This article from a Canadian publication about this district planning to ban ice cream truck music got me thinking fondly about favorite summer memories from my childhood and teen years.
Jump into this thread and share YOUR favorite summer memories.
And, is there a sight, smell or other sensation that just brings those memories pouring back for you?
Olivia
The smell of the beach and peach cobbler bring back great summer memories for me.

there are days when i would trade all my adult years for those afternoons when i was six years old again
We didn't have air conditioning, so the fan would be blowing on me, and I would listen to the crickets and the frogs singing away outside my window.
One of the smells that always brings summer sharply to mind is that earthy smell of rain on hot dirt. Do you know what I am talking about? It's just a smell that doesn't happen in the winter.
Even as an adult I so look forward to summer and all that comes with it!

Thanks for sharing it with us. I love those hot summer days where hoses and water balloons abound.
Keep remembering being six. It definitely keeps like in perspective as you get older. Trust me!

Playing it safe. ( BUT be reasonable)
Can ruin the FUN!!!!
Now I am making new happy summertime memories. Like watching lightning with my spouse during monsoon season, listening to the thunder crashing all around us, and watching the water bucket down. Then the sky clears and the desert smells rich and rain washed and there's sap running in every plant. Morning comes and it's dry and hot again... until the next rain, that is.
skinny dipping at the lake as sunset with my brother just enjoying the water and warm weather
country time lemonade on a 90 degree day those are just some of many
