What's Happening Now
Im no expert but your eating doesnt sound that bad. Maybe add fruit or maybe a healthy snack. Being 188, waking up to 185 could just be your body. Few pounds here or there I would not be concerned. I honestly dont think we weight the same through out the day.
Hope that helped a little.
Maybe someone has a better advice.

Sometimes the people close to us, dont know what to say or how to help. They want to help but they just dont know how to help. Thats were a therapist can help, look for one that has some experiences with eating disorders. Its good that you are talking about it. Your not alone in your struggles, you dont need to suck it up. This board has been slow lately but there are more out there that feel the same way you do.

You should maybe try another therapist. I cant believe she told you to hide in your room. Sometimes you need to see a few different therapist until you found one that right for you. I still searching, have basically given up on therapy.
I see why you would feel out of place in that group. I went to a group once and really was not comfortable at all. There was a women there who was very angry and not nice to anyone. There was a nutritionist and a therapist. All the therapist did was look at the ends of her hair and play with her hair like she was bored and didnt want to be there. The nurtritionist was nice but I just couldnt bring myself to go back.
It is hard, I have been struggling a lot these past few weeks, I know if I dont start doing something besides thinking about it, all the weight will come back. Im sort of stuck right now with everything in my life. Thinking about my weight is the worse. I try to keep busy to distract myself from it but its not working. I hate the way I look.

If your eating well and exercising(not excessive), then maybe your period didnt stop because of weight loss, have you seen a doctor, just to make sure there is nothing else that may cause your period to stop. I dont anything about estrogen causing an appetite increase but Im no expert either.

Hope that helped, let me know what you decide to do.

What a good topic for discussion! I encourage you to start a new discussion on the board with this so others can easily find it and join in.
To do that, hold your cursor over the orange Post Now button and choose 'Discussion' from the drop down menu which appears. Fill in the subject line and body of the message (you can ignore the poll part if you want) and Submit.

I would go see a doctor if you are concerned about having an eating disorder. It is better to be safe than sorry. It sounds like you might have some problems with food but I am no doctor. Regardless of if you have an eating disorder or not the issue still needs to be addressed along with your drug use, drinking, depression and anxiety.
Hope this helps,

You need to do what's best for you. As a mother, I can tell you that it will be hard to see my own children leave (my oldest son is just finishing his junior year of high school and is talking about leaving state for college after he graduates), but I need to let him do what's right for him. His happiness is my happiness. Your family will be hurt at first...but your happiness is what will help to heal that 'hurt'. Of course you will feel a little bit of guilt, that's human nature, but you can't stay in an unhappy situation due to guilt alone. You sound like a very strong person who knows what she wants. Use that. As a child, when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always said 'happy'. I got some funny looks because I didn't want to be a lawyer, doctor, or princess...but I was being honest. So be happy. I once lived 3,000 miles away from my family...and although we missed each other terribly...it's what I needed to do. I know that I'm just some random person on a discussion board...but I believe in you. I think that you need to do what's right by you. Make peace with your decision and live your life for you. I wish you nothing but the best. You were strong enough to tell us your story...you're strong enough to make this change.

I am happy I found this website. I read some of the replies and I find comfort knowing I'm not alone. I think this site will help support me.View Thread
Within the last week I've been eating a strangely low amount of food, for me. I'm not cutting sweets, nor am I cutting anything else. -some of the only things I've eaten in a whole day would be a tube of mini m&ms, one peanut butter cookie, one fig newton twin pack, etc)
If this helps I can list pretty much exactly what I've eaten starting from last Sunday. The most I have eaten so far was today (had I not gone to eat I probably wouldn't have eaten any more than half - not even half - of a left over sandwich for lunch at my work) and that was a bowl of soup almost a whole restaurant serving of fries and half of a quarter of a club sandwich -why does that sound like an incredible amount of food to me right now?-
I do get hungry, but like last night (I work third shift) even though I get something to eat and prepare it, I just don't feel like I want it.
I'm roughly 5'5" and 125 lbs -I don't own a scale so I'm not exactly sure on this point.
I couldn't say for sure if I am depressed or anything... I *feel* fairly fine, but an anniversary of a very close family friend's is coming up, so that may coincide with this all. But, like I said, I'm slightly concerned.
Thank you to any one who answers.View Thread
I see that your post is from about a year ago - just wondering: how have you been recently? Did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing your steady weight-loss and other issues? I'm very curious to know what you were able to find out, and if the doctors were able to point you in the right direction. Please respond here or e-mail me directly at davidcifone@aol.com
Thanks, and hope you're well.View Thread

Actually it could be anything related to these thoughts which when you have brooded upon, find it negative. You might feel insecure if you try to get rid of them. Its for your good to get rid of them as soon as possible.
So, you need to check these thoughts and kill them completely and thereby stop this further production of 'black cloud'. (Actually you are right about it. Some people get it around the chest which even 'darkens' your vision. my cousin sister has been suffering from depression, suicidal tendencies, excessive attachment, guilt etc since childhood. Through my observation I have discovered (beyond doubt) that she is arrogantly selfish and it is a kind of permanent thought process that one get out of spontaneous learning(in experience). I have told her to stop being selfish but she didn't take it and denied it.)
I am mentioning an exercise which will not vanish this black cloud (for that take appropriate psychotropic medicine) but it will give you strength.
Sit on a chair with spine straight, chest out, shoulders pulled back. Breathe in through your nose slowly and deeply into your chest, hold the in-breath AND AT THE SAME TIME TRY TO INHALE MORE AND MORE AIR INTO YOUR LUNGS through your nose so that you feel a pressure or a strain, hold this position for as long as you can, now slowly breathe out through the MOUTH.
Repeat this exercise as many times as you could. 5-10 times a day. No nutrition required to make this exercise efficacious.
Also listen to your inner self which means that does it try to stop you from doing, speaking or thinking of something. If you find something of that sort, follow it and also write it down somewhere.
For example, i was reading a poll in which someone asked whether he can allow his spouse to have sex with another person and enjoy seeing that. To this 89% of people said no. Its a naturally positive response that these people do have a connection with their inner self. It is not their thinking that stops them from such an act, it is their inner self, a product of nature that stops them from doing it.View Thread
I am mentioning a way by which you can gain control over what you eat and how much you eat. This exercise will tell you what is good for you at the present moment.
Whenever you eat, eat very slowly. Try to enjoy every bit of it as intensely as you could.
After you have had your meal, revisit your experience of eating that meal. Imagine the taste of it, How did you feel. If possible think of every minute detail.
Now type it on your laptop as lucidly and expressively as you could.
During the day, whenever you get time, read what you had written but don't try to re-experience it. just know the fact.
Now next day when you eat a meal, don't think that you have re-experience and write about it. This new meal is a new experience.
Follow the above procedure again and again. Don't strain. Don't deliberate your observation, it should come of its own.
With practice, you will start gaining awareness of the food you eat and how it is affecting you.
For example, i have discovered that when i eat a pizza made out of white bread, i feel like eating fast and more. Then many more observations, that led to me new conclusions. So basically i can control what food i want to eat and how much i should eat, and which is the best for me.View Thread
I do want to stop!!! Really really bad. I binge because I suffer from PTSD. It is really hard to find resources to help me stop bingeing because almost everything is targeted at people who binge because of weight/self image issues.View Thread

We ask that you try to avoid including scale numbers in your posts as those can be triggering to others who may be vulnerable. But if you do and/or if you post anything else which you think may trigger others, please add 'Trigger' to the front of your subject line to protect others, who can then decide for themselves whether they're safe enough to look in.
We will not be looking in here as regularly and so we really hope you all will take care of each other.

I had lost a lot of weight, I had a lot of people ask me if I was sick and what did I do to loss it. Recently I have gained a good amount back. Im not concerned with the number but I gained it all around my stomach and for me its very noticeably, its driving me crazy. Who am I kidding, the number really bothers, a lot. Im becoming obsessed over it. I have to go food shopping today and I dont want to go, I would rather have no food in house.
Now Im stop rambling.
Sorry you have to wait so long, try to do something to distract you from thinking about it. I know that is easy to write but hard to do.
Hang in there.
