The Problem: It all started last summer when I missed my period for three months. I thought for sure I was pregnant. I had all the signs and symptoms from nausea to cravings, fatigue, mood swings and so on. I took dozens of pregnancy tests and they were all negative, including one by my regular doctor who has no idea whats going on with me.
At the end of the three months I went into something that felt like either a miscarriage or labor. The cramps were excruciatingly severe and my normal routine of ibuproferin didn't even touch the pain. I could feel my uterus moving before the pain started and during the cramping as well. I honestly thought it might have been a baby moving at first before the pains set in. I had the back pains and everything and then wound up expelling an apple sized mass of purple tissue with white-ish threaded lines across it. After that came out (which was horrifying) I bled heavily and freely almost like I was urinating for a few hours. The ER doctors were vague at best saying that it might have been a fibroid, they weren't sure.
After this I had three normal periods (during which time I did lose small lemon to grape sized pieces of tissue but nothing massive) and then went right back to skipping them again for two months. Now that my period has finally started it's been incredibly heavy soaking overnight pads within about 3 hours and has lasted nearly two weeks of bright red blood with no signs of stopping. There have been a few small grape sized pieces of tissue and not to sound gross but also mucus type blood discharge which is also dark or bright red.
I have absolutely no idea whats going on. My regular doctor says that it could be polycystic ovarian syndrome but I've had ultrasounds and save for one or maybe two cysts, nothing is abnormal. I also don't fit the small breast category or "masculinization" category thats listed as symptoms. I've also always had very heavy periods that have lasted one to one and a half weeks and sometimes they were about 35 or so days apart but they were always there I never skipped a period and never lost those pieces before. Also since I hit my late 20s and early 30s my periods seemed to get less intense and more regular in the last couple of years until now. I've always had typical symptoms of PMDD, especially in the mood swing area.
I've also wondered if it could be due to some kind of infection but I'm not sure. Both of the weird periods after the missed ones started after I started on antibiotics for other reasons (abcessed tooth and bronchitis respectively.) My husband isn't circumsized either so I wondered if maybe I was having some form of bacterial vaginosis from that which I have had before because of it. I just don't know if it could cause such severe symptoms.
If you have any idea what possibly might be going on I could use the help!!!View Thread

Please can anyone offer any help, any insight? Also I do not have insurance, so I haven't been to a dr. And I'm in my early 20's. My flow this year has been pretty regular since this summer, coming within a couple of days of the same date each month lasting between 5-7 days.
Last night the pain became worse, couldn't sleep until 6 am. I've been having sharp pains now too, mainly in my lower left abdomen and lower left back, as well as hip and upper thigh. Please helpView Thread
And its been 5 days since I first had my outbreak.
The past two days I have had some vaginal bleeding...
I didnt feel anything but when I went to the restroom...
There was so much blood...
Could it be because of stress b/c the doctor told me that I had to rest and not get stressed out.
but this wkend was a family's members wedding and i was even a part of the bridal party so it wasn't very stressfree....
please let me know...View Thread
My period is usually heavy with bad cramping the first to 2 days, however this one was very, very light with absolutely no cramping.
I have since used a home pregnancy test (twice) which has come up negative.
Can anyone provide any insight or advice regarding the crazy short period?View Thread
This morning i found a gumball size lump on the inside fold of my labia . there is no pain...just a mild irritation cause i pressed against it.
it seems to have come up over night. Should I be worried? Has anyone had something similar?
I will make an appt with my family doctor first thing tomorrow but it feels like a long day /night ahead.View Thread
Im worried because Ive been through a lot this month. At the end of September I had unprotected sex for the first time and that has left me scared and paranoid. I went to the doctor, got tested and Im still waiting for the results. In the meantime they diagnosed me with a yeast infection because of the severe itching I was having. So could this be related to me missing a pill, could it indicate an STD? How long should I wait before I contact my doctor?
Thanks!View Thread
Basically, I use the super long with wings pad for the 5 days a month for my period. I am on the pill and it's still like this. Is this considered heavy? I also have bad cramps to the point where I have to lay down awhile. But my niece also has this so I never thought anything of it. We both started our periods rather young. She was 10 and i was 11.View Thread
I have seen this posted before by another member and it has happened to me for a few months now: I will start my period on time or a bit early and will bleed for 2-3 days. Then I dry up completely for 1 day, and then I bleed again for 2-3 days. Altogether, this takes up to a week. This has happened during every single period in the last few months, and perhaps going on two years now. Does this need to be checked by a doctor? I'm 42, had 3 pregnancies, and have had no serious health issues. Please help.View Thread
Could this be a sign of something serious?View Thread
