When I was 23, I went one year without a period. The following year, I had my period for ten months straight. (There were two breaks lasting no more than a week each during this time.) I wasn't taking birth control or any prescription medications. I went to the doctor to have blood work done, and everything came back normal. My doctor told me that stress and anxiety play important roles in women's cycles; however, I was diagnosed with "endometriosis", a very common health disorder that millions of women have. There are three solutions: An annual scraping of the uterus (some insurance providers do cover this procedure), having a child (which doesn't guarantee that it will stay away forever), or a hysterectomy. At least, those were the solutions five years ago; they may have discovered more since then.View Thread
