Hope you are all doing well. Fall is trying to be here, the nights are very cool and days are still pretty warm.
Some of the guys we teach are getting sick. One was nauseaus and had to go home last Tuesday. I was assigned to him and went to stay with him since no one is in home til afternoon. Thursday night I started vomiting. That stopped Friday morn but was replaced by the big D! That's been going on since then. I've lost almost 10 pounds!! I have to sip water carefully or it sets it off again. My daughter got me meds and gatorade, she needs to make another trip to store. I wonder if they would laugh if I tried to get workman's comp for this!! lol I hear another staff at the house came down with it too. I had to cancel all my weekend plans.
It's sunny outside - I do take Hemi out on leash in yard sometimes. When my daughter's home she will. Have a good weekend, LindaView Thread
I've been finding puzzles and spelling words to print out to bring to work. The staff likes coloring too!! I did bring some word puzzles for staff to work with. I think it helps us be alert and thinking.....so I didn't tell them I had the answers right away! We organized a "World of Nations" dinner at work. Staff made food from family recipes or from our family background. We made flags of the countries to put up and fed the individuals, staff and office staff.I made Swedish bread, my sis in laws lumpia and pancit from Phillipines. We had a good day-I and another staff set up and dished it out.
I had to get more tennis balls for the dog! Last one was rubber and he chewed it up!! He likes to fetch and is learning to lay down and stay. Have a good weekend and enjoy the cooler weather..(it'll be really cold too soon!) LindaView Thread
We haven't gone anywhere, but to be honest we aren't very good vaction people. We have such different ideas of what to do that its just easier to stay home and avoid the hassles. We are going to try and go camping this fall, the one thing we can both agree on.
How has everyone been? take care...phyllisView Thread
I felt pretty good at the baseball game-just got sunburned on my face! Almost half of the animals were sleeping at the zoo. We stopped to eat at the zoo and I wanted to review my pics on camera and saw the battery had fallen out! The door on it was opening sometimes when I took camera out of case so I had to close it. We hoped they had one at gift shop there and were going to check when we were done eating. After the few people cleared out (sat down) I saw it on the sidewalk behind us! Thank you!! I was surprised no one stepped on it! My daughter cut a piece off a bandaid to secure the door. Worked well.
I've been putting some pics on facebook. We saw a double rainbow on the way home. Nice finish! And the fact that I lost 5 lbs on trip. I could tell I was getting wore out from walking! Especially without a break in between days.
take care-LindaView Thread
On top of being so busy it's sure hot and humid! Even when we have some rain everyday it gets too humid. I and family have been working to get my parents house ready to sell. We started painting last weekend and are packing up everything we can donate. We took my brother out to eat for his birthday too so glad we were all together for that. I have been getting our yearly recertification training at work too. Yesterday was a 9 hour day!
I and my daughter are getting ready for our trip next week. I have my list so I don't forget anything .....but we usually do! My son will be feeding the cats, maybe I can get him to do some more yardwork too while we're gone! It's good to get away to a different place for a while to recharge.
take care, LindaView Thread
Wow, I got to see all kinds of things today! Traffic on the highway was almost at a standstill from an accident, I was late to work. I saw a turtle that must have been over a foot long, looked like a swimmer. He was trying to cross the street and a truck at least saw it and went around. Probubly came from the small pond there.
I locked my keys in my car at grocery store! Very glad I had a spare! I made dinner and exercised and felt better. It's a new day tomorrow!
Have a good day! LindaView Thread
I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their weekend! I was doing some shopping on my way home. I went to pay with debit card and saw strange writing on card machine after I slid card. Letters were scattered and didn't make a sensible word. I wondered if the machine was wearing out. I asked cashier and she said to enter my numbers and we got sale done. We came to find out it was "communicating" to us in spanish!! I read muchos gracias on the machine as I left. haha Next time I should look and choose the language I can read!
We have begun clean up on Mom and Dad's house. Want to sell it asap. The realator said now is a good time to sell but by the time we're done getting everything out and painting ect. it will be after the good buying time. I'll be spending the day tomorrow on it with brother and sisters. We're packing up any knick knacks and donating them all to good will ect. We run across a favorite now and then and discuss who wants it. Mirrors, furniture ect. I was cleaning out freezer(it was left as is til my brother moved out. I found peanut butter cookies Mom made last year.... wow.
Looks like we're having a warm weekend. Hope you all have a good one! LindaView Thread
Hope you all had a happy safe 4th! I had a great time at a bbq. We had chicken, ribs, shrimp kabobs, crab legs and fixins. I made potato salad...and they wanted the rest for later....just like last time. They keep asking me to make potato salad..hmm.....! Well, as long as I get my bowl back I'll keep making it! Before we ate we were in the pool most of the time with our rum slushies. The dog jumped in with us.
The days seem to be dryer.....more time to mow grass in between rain! Hey, I got accolades at work. I worked so well with my individual-found something to keep him busy and kept his interest. I gave he spelled words to me as I wrote them and he loved it! My manager went to tell his boss and he had to see it! I thought I was just doing my job and everyone was coming in to watch!! One of the behavior analysts came in and watched for a while. They told me what a good job I did and all I could think of was what's the big deal? But, usually this guy is getting out of the room and laying on the floor. I was exhausted when I got home!
Have a good week ! LindaView Thread
Our weather has taken a turn for the better. today its nice out and not as humid. I bought more plants yesterday, for 75% off of perennials i couldn't let that go by. I spent this morning getting them in the ground and then went to town where i found azeala bushes marked down to $1.79, another couldn't pass up deal. so now i am about to head outside and find a place for them. I have to stop this, i'm running out of space!!
Hope everyone is enjoying is having a good week..take care..phyllisView Thread

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

- You can tell us as liitle or as much about yourslf,
- What things to do you like to do?
- Do you have a family, do you have grand or even great grand children?
- What part of the country to do you like in
- What do you like to cook or eat
- Have you found out that getting older doesn't mean what you though it would?
For example I live in the Eastern part of US about 30 miles west of Washington, DC.
I have a son and a daughter. My daughter is married and has two grandsons. 3 and 6.
Her husband is the youth pastor at the church we attend.
I still work full time in the field of fianance/accounting at Computer Sciences Corp. My Son, Fred, also works there with me. He is into computers.
I was abot 40 pounds overweight in the winter. I have been going to weight watchers. Right now I have alsot abot 15 ponds. I need to start doing more exercise. I need to get motivated. I know that I will feel so much better and the weight will come off faster.
I like to cook, however I am usually so tired when I come home from workf that I resort to left oversrs r eating ot.
I love to look at beatiful yars full of flowers and shrubry and dream....But here I sit doing notthing. One very good think is that we live some new neighbors just moved in. Mind You I'm not jealous, just admire how they took a year that I though look oky and torie out bushes and trees.
Once they were done, they had a beaufiflly manicurred laown. With a beatifl flower garden ot front with all kinds of flowers and greenert.
So this girl needs encoragement. 1. I eant to keep the wekght coming off, I want to exercise more. I wnat to cook helathy and not be eating ot all the time. I want to get a cople of projects done in the yard that will "beatify: it.
Thanks for all your good adivce. ps.s forgive the many many spelling errors that must be in this posting. I have not seeing too goo tonight.
Lookin forward to meeting lots of new friends - women and men.

Oh me. By sunday I was broken ot all over my hands and arms. Thank goodness I make a doctor apointment and got some predisone. That is really the only stff that will hand my poisin ivy.
I feel kind of like a baby going in and getting the drug, but then I fitre I ned to be able to work and can't be stopping to itch my arms every few minutes and risk is getting infected. So here I am "Pumped up on Steriods".
Does anyone have home remedies for posin ivy or oak, or smac that work? My dad was telling me abot a yellow soap, or something called felds soap. Just curios if anyone else has tried this.
I know it's hard for some of the memers to get their postings to work. I know email is probably the best alternative - but I thought I would give it another try in case there are other folks out there that wold like to join us....View Thread
We're having beautiful weather here. With the exception of a couple of really hot days a few weeks ago it's been a very nice spring. Of course tomorrow it's supposed to get close to or above 80 degrees. Guess summer won't be far behind.
I hope everyone has a good weekend!

My husband and I went into New York City last Wednesday to see "Jersey Boys" (about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons). It was wonderful and the songs brought back so many memories.
Have a good weekend!

Does anyone remember this? I'm scheduled for a CT scan of the abdomen-pelvis and am very much concerned as to how much radiation this CT scan will put on me. I had an isotope study done about a month ago and am afraid as to how much radiatioin my body will have been put through.
thanks,View Thread
So now I'll see if I can get some yard work done tomorrow as long as it stays nice.
take care, LindaView Thread
What a dark day we have today! After days of sunshine, today has been grey and rainy. It rained most of the morning. The streets are still soaked. The sun has peaked out only in the last half hour. Soon it will go down again.
I found a recipe for chicken chow mein I might try later this week. It's made in the slow cooker.
take care, LindaView Thread
Most people truly believe that the current health care system is in a VERY bad situation and something has to be done. But who are the people who are against it and why?View Thread
First of all, does the "meet your neighbors" still exist? I can't find it.
But here are my questions. I'm all of a sudden it seems coming down with can be classed as serious health problem. In this case, the kidneys. Can someone tell me what the co-insurance? Is it not what the card holder pays after the insurance pays their portion less discount and deductible? My insurance pays 80% of covered charages. A diagnostic bill totalled $3900. The insurance paid something like $2400, but I still have a $500 deductible and less the discount whatever that is, and I still got a bill for a little over $1000.
Second question: does the medical provider expect payment in full and right away? What if the card holder can't afford to pay the entire amount as one lump sum? then what happens? Can they seize your property and bank accounts? I've never had to deal with this type of problems before. But now it seems I need to know. All this is new to me and is scary both financially and medically.
thanks,View Thread
We are getting closer to warm weather and times we think about making more trips and vacations. Does anyone have suggestions for what they might bring along on a car trip to snack on but won't get all over the car?? It would have to be easy to store and of course not too distracting for anyone. I like to divide natural(not salted) almonds into smaller bags like the snack baggies. This is good for small fruits ect. Rasins are good too.
have a good day, LindaView Thread
