Having ADD/ADHD is a gift and a curse but nothing to be ashamed of and certainly not anyone's fault, which is how I am understanding your folks take on it.
You are not nuts and you know you better than anyone. I had no clue what it was until my 2nd grade son was diagnosed with it! I took the cassettes home and found myself saying "OMG! That's ME!" not "That's my son!"...even though it was....
PS Depression and ADD/ADHD can go hand in hand...again, depression is the common cold in therapy! Why is it you can treat the body but have no clue the mind in the brain is a physical treatable organ too! Good Luck!!View Thread
