I am a 22 year old college student. As I'm reading your posts, I think back to when I was 13. I had just moved away from home to train gymnastics and being so homesick made me very stressed, as well as going through a parent's divorce. For about a year, I began waking up with swollen lips and very itchy hives everywhere about twice a week. I finally got a specific blood test done and was told I have Celiac Disease. Celiac disease is an intolerance (not an allergy) to wheat and because the small intestine cannot digest the gluten (in wheat) it stores it under the skin. Once on the gluten free diet, I had no hives or swelling. I would recommend checking this out if you are having these symptoms.View Thread
