Let me add that I was in the Iowa/Illinois area for 5-6 weeks. Also the hotel I was staying at and the job I was working at were not NEWER facilities that would give me a reason to suspect no mold or dust.
I believe my phlegm is caused by all environmental allergens having just had this experience. There are websites where you can enter your zip code to determine the levels of allergens in your area and compare to others. I suggest for some of you that this would be an option if environmental pollutants are suspect in your symptoms.
Thank you and best wishes on becoming symptom free!View Thread
My suggestion for you is to move. If it means that much to you.
I travel around the country for work and recently found myself (a Michigan native) working in Illinois and staying in Iowa across the Mississippi River.
It didn't hit me until I returned to Michigan and started clearing my throat constantly and hacking up phlegm- that I had ZERO occurrences of throat-clearing of phlegm hacking THE WHOLE TIME I WAS OUT OF STATE.
My grandmother (who has often noted my snorting and throat-clearing on the phone) suggested perhaps it's a dust allergy and that I need to open my windows more (if that was the case I'd move South). I told her that if that were the case I would not have as many symptoms in the summer.
I have lived near Grand Rapids, Lansing/Jackson and now near Detroit (all in Michigan) my whole life. I am already planning on moving out of state this summer, but having suffered from this "allergic reaction" or whatever for the last few years (and I have no pets and don't smoke)- I think I'll do some more research to decide where I'll end up. (Fortunately I travel 9 months a year so I could care less where I wind up).
Check into environmental allergens and give surgery or medication some serious thought- it's not natural. Every other week there's new lawsuit commercials against pharmaceuticals and surgical implants that lead to further complications or death. Choose wisely- you're worth it!View Thread
