A couple weeks ago I had a full blown anaphylactic reaction to eating almonds. The almonds were pure, raw, organic, not mixed with anything else, and not near any thing else. Had an allergy test done (blood test) which tested for 50 +/- food and airborne allergies. Test results came back with me NOT allergic to tree nuts (aka almonds) but says I AM allergic to peanuts. I've eaten peanuts almost daily for the past 46 years and never had a reaction (including since I had the reaction to almonds - by the way I did not eat any peanuts on the day I had the reaction to the almonds).
So how accurate are these tests really? Are there more accurate tests than the one this doctor gave me? Could I be allergic to almonds one day and then not the next?
Would really like some info. I'm very confused about what to eat and what not to eat now.View Thread
