For the last few months, I was able to control my condition about 80%.
It does not go away 100%, but I am feeling more confident with being with others.View Thread

About 6 months ago i started burping after meals the mucus was getting thicker more frequent so i went back to the docs and he gave me Lansoprazole 15mg in the morning and 15mg at night the pills were helping but i didnt like the side effects so i decided to search the net and found afew things that work for me, I found that sucking natural soft licorice after meals eases and reduces the mucus conciderably and also drinking Fenell Tea and Nettle Tea are great for the digestive system i also drink Camomile Tea 30 mins before bed helps me sleep.
Someone else says try flat coke not diet and Gaviscon Double Action which ive not tried yet but maybe it might help someone on here. These suggestions are not a cure but atleast i feel normal again.View Thread
I've discovered that using lip balm helps decrease the chance of swollen lips because I only get this symptom during the winter months when my lips are dried out. Also, I've limit my consumption to only 1 cup of coffee or 1 beer. Any more than that, I run the risk of getting swollen lips. When I do get a swollen lip, I use a cold pack wrapped in a towel and hold it against my lips for 15min. I look like Daffy Duck when I have a swollen lip so I try not to drink coffee at work. I don't drink beer at social events either.View Thread

Got them again 5 years ago and still have them, also tried every specialist etc. was on prednisone 50 mg a day allergy rx ranitidine which somewhat helped but gained over 70 lbs and just felt awful every day.
Well was reading an article about cucumbers, they help inflammation etc. like you always see them on ladies eyes etc. So what the heck I bought some and by the way the english cucumbers last the longest since they are shrink wrapped. I cut just a few pieces and rubbed them on the hives or if they are on my arms I put them on with an ace bandage. Guess what? They work, not kidding you. Takes a few minutes of rubbing and the pain and swelling go down. Have gotten off prednisone for the first time in 5 years loosing weight and just using the cucumbers. Still get hives but they are doable now.
Hope this helps someone because life can be miserable with them.
Take careView Thread

My doctor prescribed me several different medications and none seemed to work. However, after the fourth try, I found that the combination of 1 zyrtec, 1 claritin, and 1 colcrys (used to treat gout...the doctor said the antiflammatory helps) almost completely cured me! I take all three of these twice a day. I can live normally now and seldomly have hive breakouts.
Of course I cannot guarantee this will work for everyone (and you need a prescription for the Colcrys), but I thought I would throw it out there!

we did a food log and nothing. Then I noticed he swiched to splenda
in his Ice tea and was drinking a lot of it. We stopped the splenda and moved back to sugar or agave. It has been 10 days now and all is good so far will keep updating.View Thread
I am a 22 year old college student. As I'm reading your posts, I think back to when I was 13. I had just moved away from home to train gymnastics and being so homesick made me very stressed, as well as going through a parent's divorce. For about a year, I began waking up with swollen lips and very itchy hives everywhere about twice a week. I finally got a specific blood test done and was told I have Celiac Disease. Celiac disease is an intolerance (not an allergy) to wheat and because the small intestine cannot digest the gluten (in wheat) it stores it under the skin. Once on the gluten free diet, I had no hives or swelling. I would recommend checking this out if you are having these symptoms.View Thread
For example, different combinations of Cinnamon and Honey help cure all sorts of things. Arthritus, Chronic Cough and Flu, toothache pain, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Cancer and many more.
Simply go buy some Cinnamon Sticks, Cinnamon Power (with NO MSG) and some Raw Uncooked Honey and make sure all are stored in a "Glass" container and not plastic.
Crumble one cinnamon stick by hand into Clean Coffee filter, sprinkle light layer of cinnamon powder and brew a full pot. Once done, poor one cup of cinnamon water into a glass cup and add 4-6 tablespoons of Honey and Enjoy!
If you have a high degree Fever drink 3 pots of this a day and I guarentee you will be cured of your Fever in no more then 48 hours.
God Bless!View Thread
Please look up "Sulfite Allergy". Find out the foods that must be avoided. I have had to cut a ton of foods out of my diet. The pay off is that I feel a million times better. Watch for problems with packaged foods... frozen, canned, cellophaned, etc. Learn what words are used to indicate the presence of sulfites in foods. Trader Joe's was enormously helpful with their policies on sulfites on foods. Very little of their produce has sulfites.
I also had an allergy to annatto (a yellowing agent) in cheese. My IBS symptoms went away when I stopped eating annatto and foods with sulfites. All of a sudden, I was well and no IBS after at least 15 years of it.
I have arthritis and attributed all of my discomfort to that. I was tested and had a severe allergy to gluten... wheat, rye, and barley. Approximately 2 months after getting off of all gluten, I was amazingly better!!! Fluid came off of my joints. I move easily now.
I had migraines for 50 years. I just found out that my allergy to red dye #40 was causing me to have migraines. I eliminated the red dye from medications, beverages, and foods and like a miracle, my migraines are gone!
At first I felt deprived with many foods having to be cut out of my diet. That lasted a very short time. My trade off was that I now get to feel wonderful by avoiding my allergens.
I hope this helps people. I am sad that it took a life time to find someone (allergist) who really knew what they were doing that could help me feel wonderful! I hope that you find your problem quickly.View Thread
