I've been dealing with anxiety since I was young. I was officially diagnosed with it when I was 16 and i'm 21 now and still learning new things on how to control it. The one thing that really really helps is try and find the best destraction. Going for a drive (I don't suggest if you are actually in a panic attack, just when you're feeling a little anxious), reading a book, playing music, taking photos, and the list goes on! Once you start to concentrate on these things, you're only focusing on that certain thing.
Also, I find that stress balls help tremendously.
