Something that you might want to look into is going the spiritual route like I did. Many, including some in the medical field, consider panic attacks as a great tool to awaken. To awaken means the end of suffering. All spiritual teachers, best seller Eckhart Tolle, agree that panic attacks are the most immediate doorway to awakening. If the person uses a panic attack or some other form of intense suffering as a way to surrender and not fear its powerful body-mind energy surges. Just feel the energy surges without giving them a story. Just let the energy go through you. Trying to contain and resist them is what makes them reoccur and get stronger and stronger. Just consentrate on the body sensations. You won't die. They won't kill you. Each time they come, they will lessen and lessen. The trapped energy created by the scary stories we have accumulated will start to dissipate. A good advise is to stop thinking so much, and start to meditate. Any way, I no longer suffer from these and i am thankful to them because they started me on this path of being awaken to end all suffering. I highly recommend a guru called Mooji. He's someone out of this world. Check out his youtube video "From full panic attack to full power." See the other two he also has on panic attacks. You will feel so much better after listening to him. Eckhart Tolle is also great. A panic attack was his doorway to enlightenment.

I take effexor and welbutrin. I heard these two pills will cause weight gain and Im already 125 over weight. My ? is how can I stop taking these meds without going through serious withdrawls. Dont feel I need them anymore I live a less stressful life now. Then I did when I started taking them.View Thread

It not the same things always but some people or uncomfortable situations & feeling nervous ends over and over again with me throwing up. Its like I have to because I feel so sick. I try to turn it off but its almost like I can't get a handle on exactly what it is.
I'm wondering as to what you think it is, and what I can do. I want to be able to face situations I am uncomfortable in without being sick.
I have always though maybe a fast acting anti anxiety medication? I don't always feel this way just certain situations.

It took me roughly five months to taper from 75mg/day to 37.5mg/day and finally from 37.5mg/day to 37.5mg every other day. About a week after stopping the medicine I felt deeply depressed and had the brain zaps. I went back to my doctor and felt very discouraged when she suggested going back on the medicine at the last lowest dose. I decided to tough out the depression and brain zaps to see if they would go away.
Low and behold, about 1 week later I was doing much better. I'm still adjusting to having a fuller range of emotions. Sometimes I get very upset and cry over things I wouldn't have while on the medicine. But, I'm not depressed, I'm just feeling a healthy range of emotions. Over time and with practice I know that I will be able to better comfort myself when I get upset so that I don't feel like the world is ending over a little worry.
It was only with the encouragement and support from my parents, husband, friends and coworker that I was able to successfully come off this drug. If you want to get off it or are in the process, my biggest piece of advice is to talk to the people who love you and ask for their encouragement. You can do it!View Thread
I found that eating helps, especially with nausea. And not just crackers, something of substance like eggs, peanut butter or soup. I went from almost vomiting to highly functional after eating. Drinking lots of water helps a lot too. I felt more normal after drinking water instead of something else.
Melatonin helps with insomnia too--3 to 6 mg. Good luck to anyone starting this process. It does get better!View Thread
All mental health professionals I have seen the past year have told me that this is the HARDEST of all antidepressants to get off of. With that in mind, I cut my dose in half for 4 months, then took it every other day for the next 3 months, then every three days for one month. I thought I was home free, BUT THEN..... brain zaps, anxiety, sleep loss, appetite loss, and all the other fun stuff kicked in. It was VERY tempting to get back on it, but I didn't want to go there.
Currently I'm trying to combat all the above with fish oil and other supplements. It's not easy, but I'm determined! Other important things to throw in are exercise, sunlight, and meditation.
So for those of you trying to get off this difficult drug, stay positive and seek out a lot of support ~ it's one of the hardest I've done, but if I can do it then anyone can!View Thread
