My doctor put me on tylenol 3 with codiene for my cough and it works, also, and morphine , but i don't use the morphine unless it is absolutly necessary, It has been close to a year since i used it , i got it at the hospital i was in, my pulminologist won't give it to me. which is good, i use other stuff , also i don't know if you ever used lidocaine , when i am going through my attacks i use lidocaine in my nebulizer it normally helps. well good luck
wow now this is strange, i haven't been on for a little while and than when i do get on sure enough somebody has the same exact problem as i had this week. I was in the hospital this past week for my myasthanis gravis, (another problem) when one of the volunteers decided to bring a "therapy" dog to the floor , now i love dogs, always had them growing up, but as soon as this gentleman brought the dog to my room i had to ask him to leave, within a half hour i was in a full fledge asthma attack , kind of strange when my allergies are suppose to be to cats.lol anyway it was a real beautiful dog with long white hair. I just couldn't understand why they where bringing a dog to the surgery patients floor, (that's where they put me) oh well, hope everybody is doing fine,
As i said in my previous post , xolair wasn't for me, i had a real bad time with prednisone though, 2 cataracts, weight gain, rashes, moody, everything except bone problems , thank god don't need that, i was just diagnosed with miasthenia gravis and was in hospital this week for 9 days getting a plasma exchange done , not fun, anyway, about a month ago i was taken of hydrocortisone pills, they stopped my prednisone back in january, i thought i was doing great until about 2 weeks after they dropped my hydocorisone, than i had an attack that i haven't had in about 6 months and i truly believe this exacberation also exacberated my myathanis gravis, i have heard they can both be pretty similiar. I know my nuerologist wants me to go back on prednisone but i am so worried that everything asthma wise will get worse again,. I have been on a bunch of different meds and right now the combo that seems to be working is pulmicort, ipitropium bromide, and sometimes a kick of lidocaine, i also am using qvar now, which didn't work in the beginning. funny. oh well, just wanted to way in, hope everybody is doing fine., god bless cwilleView Thread
Doctor doubled my inhaled corticosteroids, and added another round for the day, so now i do 3 breathing treatments, which is a lot better than it use to be. I myself have been trying to get out, i joined a gym with my wife and son, so far it's lasted about 3 weeks than got sick, i just think there was something someone was wearing or maybe outside, I started to take for granted i think because i haven't had a bad episode in a couple of months, oh well you live and learn, well hope your lungs continue to treat you good for awhile, i am getting better this was only a couple day thing, my doctor does all he can to try to keep me out of the hospital, Anyway i have just about everything they have at the hospital except real strong steroids, which we are trying to stay off. anyway take care,
outstanding, hope it continues, i myself have just gotten off the hydrocortisone pills the gave me instead of prednisone. unfortunatlly i had a setback yesterday, but just a small one nothing i can't take care of at home. I hope everything continues going well for you.
sorry i took so long to reply, but i went to the dailystrength web site, and it is fantastic, i got a lot of questions answered, thank you so much, you don't know how much i appreciate it. Actually you probably do since we are all on some kind of web site or another, it is real nice to be able to talk to people who are going or have gone through the same things you are going through, that is why i love the site. I always recommend it to people i know, anyway once again thank you and i hope you find all the answers you are looking for. God bless.
well, what is that old saying , when it rains it pours, just found out this week that i now am the proud owner of a new disease, lol it is called myathanis gravis. I will be starting treatment soon , something called ivig, i have looked it up , and it doesn't look like it is fun, oh well. If i keep this up i might just be on all the community boards, i just went on the lupus board to see if anyone knows of a community board for myathanis gravis. As i have said before as long as i can keep laughing, i will be all right, god is in my corner and my asthma hasn't been doing to bad lately, ( i better not mention that , might jinx myself) oh well, hope everybody is doing fine, god bless , and see you all around the communities , lol .
hi again, i know all about the allergies too, i am on cetrizine which i guess is the generic for zytrec (sp?) and a nasal spray. What i also do is a nasal rinse, i'll be honest i don't know if it works or not, but it can't hurt, living in florida right now with the pollen so high i figure why not. i have been doing the nasal rinse for awhile, but my wife is now doing it and she says it helps her, and i have seen other people on the message board use it to and love it. Anyway i get mine at walgreens. Maybe give it a shot. good luck hope everything keeps getting better.View Thread
