Hello RedBerryMom,
I see that this post is 4 yrs old. I don't know if you still want replies, but just in case...
First, how is your daughter? She'll be 10 now, yes? How is she dealing with Asthma?
My son is nearly 6 yrs old now. We had our first EMT visit and trip to ER last night, ALL NIGHT. We have had visits to Urgent Care in the past, but I was hoping we'd have less of that as our son got older.
He handled it like a champ, but was eager to get home.
The Dr. has prescribed a Q-Var inhaler 2 x daily, for...well, forever I suppose. It is meant to prevent this sort of thing. He only (so far) has attacks when he gets sick, so I hate giving it to him during the Summer, tho he did get Strep this Summer, so... Admittedly, I missed giving it to him 4 days in a row (I should always have a back up on hand), and now this happens.
I worry about the steroids. His behavior...his personality, is changed when he is on Q-Var. But I don't want him to have more trips to ER.
What was/is your daughter taking for her Asthma? How has she responded to different treatments (if you don't mind me asking)?
I hope she's doing well.
Thank you for your post,
