My pediatrician just diagnosed my 21 month old son with a lung virus she called MPS. She stated it is similar to but not as severe as RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus). I tried Googling MPS but could not find anything with a 'lung' related disease. His breathing is labored, she said when he came in his breathing was at about 50% but after a steroid treatment and a Xopenex treatment, his breathing increased to about 70%. Can anyone tell me what exactly is MPS, what the initials stand for and what I should be concerned about, especially since my pediatrician is going out of town tomorrow morning and she's basically the only one I trust (vs. emergency rooms)? Thank you!View Thread
