My son is the same way.He is 11 and has asthma worse during winter cold season and its very mild the rest of the year so when hes not having problems that he can notice he sees no reason for taking the preventative meds his dr. has prescribed.I hope this gets better with age but have a feeling it wont because the older they get usually the more stubborn.I am going to try threatening him with having to go back on prednisone,he had pnuemonia that put him in the hospital a few days last month and he hates taking that too so I know hes got to do his preventatives. We go to see a specialist later this month because our family dr.said she did not feel like she was getting enough control of it and wants him to have the best care possible as do I.Any suggestions for for handling stubborn tweenagers will be greatly appreciated.View Thread
