My little monster Avery is doing GREAT! He is so smart and has grown up so quick. Hard to believe he is 18 months already! He started walking at 9 months and hasn't slowed down one bit. He is currently preparing to be a big brother to a baby boy in September! We are super excited! Have to admit current pregnancy boards are not like they used to be.
Hope everyone is doing well!View Thread
Just thought I would come back to the boards and see what is happening! It has been over a year and what a year it has been. My oldest started Kindergarten and my youngest is just a little spit fire.
Like some of you Abby is walking/running, getting into everything, bothering/loving her big sister and is just a blessing. Abby does not like milk a whole lot, but especially out of the sippy, so we are slowly working on that and getting her use to it. I am staying at home with her, but ultimately will need to go back to work.
I am pretty sure we are done having kids, as life seems so hectic now, but DH and I will make that final decision next year if 2 is enough.
Hope all is well with you and I will check these boards on occassion as Facebook kind of sucks......View Thread

We don't want to go back to the RE again just yet. They did a wonderful job, but it was so expensive. Here's to hoping all goes well!View Thread

I was sitting on a bench
while in a nearby mall,
When I noticed a young mother
with two children who were small.
The youngest one was whining,
"Pick me up," I heard him beg
but the mother's face grew angry
as the child clung to her leg.
"Don't hang on to me," she shouted
as she pushed his hands away,
I wish I'd had the courage
to go up to her and say…
"The time will come too quickly
when those little arms that tug,
Won't ask for you to hold them
or won't freely give a hug.
"The day will sneak up subtly
just as it did with me,
When you can't recall the last time
that your child sat on your knee.
"Like those sacred, pre-dawn feedings
when we cherished time alone
Our babies grow and leave behind
those special times we've known.
"So when your child comes to you
with a book that you can share,
Or asks that you would tuck him in
and help him say his prayer…
"When he comes to sit and chat
or would like to take a walk,
Before you answer that you can't
`cause there's no time to talk"
Remember what all parents learn
so many times too late,
That years go by too quickly
and that childhood doesn't wait.
"Take every opportunity,
if one should slip away
Reach hard to get it back again,
don't wait another day."
I watched that mother walk away
her children followed near,
I hope she'll pick them up
before her chances disappear.View Thread

My girlfriend tried to suicide attempt last month by having 47 penadols. She was admitted in the hospital and saved. Later on we came to know that she was pregant for one month during the suicide time.
Since we are not married, we havent told anyone that she is pregnant. She has completed here second month and is on the third one.
I would like to know if the child is in any danger? And what steps to be done in order to make sure everything is okay.
Regards & Thanking you in advance.View Thread

Wow....what a journey we have all been on. Many of us met on the TTC boards. I was hoping to turn this board into a parenting board, but honestly, I believe that for a board to be productive and informative you need lots of active members. I am just way to busy to keep the board active (as I am sure all of us are for now).
I encourage everyone to join the following boards (I am!!) and to all keep intouch. I thank you all for the support that you have given to me and everyone over the last year. It has truly been my honor to get to know each of you. I pray for health and happiness for you and your families. God Bless you all!!!!
If anyone wants to find me on FB you can look up nickiru. Please find me!!!!!

She is already 9 weeks old . . . time is flying! She sleeps great (which is like a miracle). And I only have one more week of maternity leave!
Sob . . . Although I'll have more time to check in when I'm back at work.
Sad, I know! I hope everyone is doing great!!View Thread
My DH and I still haven't been able to get all of the details worked out to move me out to Georgia to be with him and due to the Army's "unofficial policy" of hurry-up-and-wait it may still be a while if at all. That definitely sucks since his training will not be finished until January or February, but at least we got to see him graduate from Basic Training. I'm attacking a copy of our first family picture to the bottom of the message. It was a wonderful weekend, and very emotional for us both, but I'm glad we were able to go. And to think, if my little Jocelyn hadn't come a month early it wouldn't have been possible!
DH and I were talking the other night about when we want to start trying for baby #2. If you'd asked me when Joss was only a month old, I'd have told you there was no way I'd want to try until she was about a year old, but when DH said he wants to start trying again by next February (when Joss is about 5 mos.) I was actually ok with it. I think the fact that she and I are starting to function on a schedule has a lot to do with feeling that way. I may be crazy but I'm actually looking forward to having another kid in the near future. Part of me is a little scared though since I developed severe pre-e at 36 weeks. I still have BP issues and am on meds to help, but I'm a little afraid that I could develop the same problems again. Everything worked out beautifully this time around in spite of that though, so I know that even if it does happen again the baby and I could still come out just fine. I'm glad that DH and I are talking about it now so I can start praying about those concerns now and rely on God to take care of everything when the time comes.
Wow, this post was a lot longer than I expected it to be. Maybe next time I won't go so long in between posts, lol.
I hope all of you ladies are doing well. God bless you and your little ones!!View Thread
Short: Evelyn Jean was born at 6:32 pm via c-section on Friday, August 6th, 2010. She was 7 pounds, 11 oz and 20 inches long.
Long: We went in for induction at 6:00 Friday morning. I was hooked up to Pitocin at 6:15. The doctor came in and broke my water at 8:30. By noon, I had only dialated to 4 cm and and her head wasn't dropping. The doc came back and checked on me at noon. I was only dilated to 5 cm. At 1:30, I started running a fever. I was started on antibiotics in my IV. At 3:30, the contractions were getting really painful so I finally asked for the epidural. By 6:00 the fever was still high and I still had not progressed. The doctor recommended a c-section. We went in the the OR at 6:20 and Evelyn was born at 6:32. It turns out that her head was lodged sideways in my pelvis and I would have had to have a c-section no matter what had happened. I also developed some type of infection in the placenta. She has a full head of blonde hair and looks just like her daddy. We were placed into our room at 9:00. We went home 2 days later.
More recently, we were never able to breast feed because Evelyn never could latch on. I have been pumping and we are doing well with that. She has developed colic and every night has become a challenge. She is so worth it though.
I hope that all of you ladies are doing wonderfully. I hope that everybody and their LO's are happy and healthy. Hopefully I will be on here more often. Talk to you all soon. Best wishes!View Thread
Please read and enjoy it if you'd like. I included a photo of Rosie after she was delivered and one of us together as well.

Also, DH is getting a vesectomy next Friday. Because of our infertility problems, for some reason, I am having a hard time w/this. I understand he doesn't want anymore children and at this point, neither do I, but I'm just not dealing well with this decision. Why am I feeling this way???? We are arguing over it. UGH.......

I didnt want to take any chances with having an epidural because I have a curve in my lower back and also the fact you could get sick or not have it work at all.
I told my nurses that that is my plan and they kind of just looked at me like I wasnt going to beable to do it because I had back labor and my son was "Sunny Side Up".
I went to the hopital around 9:30pm on Aug.24 6cm dilted easy 7cm and fully effaced, felt like forever in labor, I wasnt stuck on the monitors because I refused to sit in the bed. About 12am Aug 25 I had to get in the bed to be checked and I was 9cm easy 10cm, my water hadnt broke so I said breack it and this baby will be here. Half an hour passed and I was pushing, my son was born at 1:25am on Aug. 25 with no medication.
Later that morning before the nurses had to switch shifts they came in and said they couldnt believe I did it Natural because most of the time when a women comes in saying shes going to do it Natural, they get to a point and want medication. Nurses in hospitals now adays dont get to see to many Natual labor and delieveries because of the pain medication that you can get. Im proud to be one of those moms that let my nurses witness one.View Thread

I had to pick up my BIL from work last night, BF couldn't because it was so late 11:30pm and he has to be up at 3 am for work. So anyway I made sure Bianka had a full belly and was sleeping before I left. I get BIL and am heading home when BF texts me "Baby wants Boobie" I just laughed my ass off. It then dawned on me that I will probably be hearing that alot more as this year goes by. I just had to share.View Thread
We got to the hospital and by the time I finally got into an exam room I was crying and begging for pain relief. They hooked me up to the monitors and my contractions were over the 100 mark and the lady was like oh that was a big one... all I could think was "no crap lady I feel everything". They kept telling me to slow my breathing and that it was going to take awhile before I could get anything. I continued to beg! I finally got into my room dialated 4cm with contractions still 2-5 minutes apart. They were able to get me an epidural immediately and I was in heaven. The epidural did make me sick so they had to give me some medicine to stop my throwing up. I got some sleep and was able to finally rest. By 12pm the doctor came in and said I had only a small piece of my cervix left and that she would be back in 20 minutes to see if it were gone and then I was going to do a practice push. Well she didn't come back until 1245pm and I was fully dialated. I did my practice push and did so well we just kept going. 38 minutes later he was here!
We didn't get out of the hospital until yesterday because he had really high bilirubin levels and was jaundiced. So he spent 2 days under lights and finally got to a level where we could come home. That was the hardest thing for me to watch. I just wanted to bong with him! I am truly infatuated with him. Words can't even describe. We tried for him for 5 years and finally got him. He is perfect!!!! Thanks for everyone's support during this pregnancy... I was a nervous wreck!View Thread

This is so very exciting and it's hard to believe that the day has come. That after we make that trip over to the Hospital the next time I'm in the car coming home we'll have a baby in the back seat. It's so crazy to think about. We're going to parents sooner than we can even fathom.View Thread
