I'm a teacher, so here goes my thinking...LOL!!! Phonetically, Regan should be pronounced "Ree-gan" due to the open vowel (e)...but not everybody understands that, so many people pronounce it "Ray-gan"... I went through this when spelling my DD's name Abbigail (the double b's close the A, making it short)...Everyone thought I was crazy...
Eventually, after hearing it plenty of times, people will get it. It might be irritating at first, but if you love the name and you want it spelled Regan, DO IT!

I LOVE both names you've picked out!!!
Good luck!View Thread

JOELLE GOT HER BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's really nervous because she was spotting all day yesterday...PLEASE keep her in your prayers! Took 19 cycles and she couldn't be any more ecstatic (as we can ALL relate!).
I know it's not my news to share, but I knew that you guys would rejoice with her since we were all on the board together and she was our MAJOR cheerleader!

Take care!View Thread

I'd totally be freaking out if I were you...Keep us posted on the status of the nurses!
I'm thinking of your mom...I don't know what to tell you there - my parents are the SAME way...

I had a LOT of BHC yesterday, but I spent the day running around trying to take care of some things to finish up DD's room...so I can finish Alex's room....
DH told me to call the dr, but I didn't...I guess in addition to dropping and BHC/regular contractions, what scares me the most is that I've felt sick to my stomach the last couple of days - which CAN be a sign of labor...
I keep telling myself that I'm working myself into a tizzy for nothing and I just need to slow it down. I go back to the doc 2 weeks from this past Thurs b/c my doc is on vacay this upcoming week... (He's awesome and knows that I ONLY want to see him!) I'll be 34 weeks then...
I'm going to take it easy as best I can over the next few days and see if that helps matters. I've just had this nagging feeling that he's still going to come earlier than the c/s date that we've already scheduled. Dr won't stop him after 35-36 weeks...
Anyway, THANK YOU for all your help!!!!! I hope everyone else is doing well!!!!!!
Big hugs all around!View Thread

We had our yard sale on Saturday, and I sat outside ALL DAY in 90+ degree heat. Sunday morning, I was having some weird contractions (lower ab/cervical) that were lasting for a minute or so, not timeable, but frequent... On Tuesday when I woke up, I thought that Alex seemed lower and when we got to VBS Tuesday night, it was confirmed because I couldn't rest my belly on the back of the pew in front of me (in fact, I could barely stand because our pews are so close together - LOL!). Tuesday night I didn't sleep worth a flip because I was having so much pelvic pain. Wednesday was difficult because my pelvis was hurting so bad. Wednesday night at VBS, DD fell off the steps on the playground equipment and I RAN (I MEAN RAN) across the playground - I beat our youth pastor over there and he was standing 5ft away from her. (Wednesday night, I had a dream that my water broke - but that has NOTHING to do with this situation - lol!) Last night, I didn't sleep worth a flip.
The contractions have slowed down for the most part, but since I didn't "drop" with DD, I don't know what's normal and what's not. Should I drop this early? He is sitting right in my hips - no more jabs in the ribs. I'm having TONS of BHC and a few normal contractions. I feel like I have to pee, but when I go to the bathroom, nothing comes out (which is what happened when my water broke with DD)...
It's too early for him to come and I'm freaking out. If he came now, his lungs wouldn't be fully developed and I couldn't BEAR to see him in the NICU. The dr told me to call if I was having 6+ contractions in an hour and that's not happening... You'd think this being my 2nd baby, I'd know what's normal and what's not, but since I never dropped with DD, I have NO IDEA in this situation...
Any insight would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!View Thread

I'm hoping and praying that when you go back next week, things will be slowing down and Charlie will be doing her practice breathing.
My prayers continue to be with you!!!!!
BIG HUGS!!!View Thread

WOW you have a lot going on!!!! I'm so sorry that you're having such a stressful time. HUGS to you!!!! Sorry to hear about your uncle and your cousin...Like Meggie said, I know ALL TOO WELL not wanting a c-section, but when it comes to safety, you TOTALLY need to do what's best. I cried all the way to the OR when I was in labor with DD, but in the end it's what was best. Hopefully, everything will turn out just fine for her!
Take care,

I would TOTALLY go with my instincts! I am one of "those" people who have to read about EVERYTHING. I have to plan EVERYTHING...One thing that TTC taught me (and you, I'm sure!) is that there are some things that books can't necessarily teach you...there are some things that you can't necessarily plan.
Like Nicki, I would just wait it out. If you are having serious issues later on, then I would ask your pediatrician what (s)he recommends. Just because it's in a book doesn't necessarily mean it will work...a HARD, but TRUE lesson...
I'm sure you'll do fine!
