FINALLY conceived by the Grace of God, 2 rounds of Clomid, and lucky 13! Alexander Penn (EDD 8/9/10 but c/s at 39wks)
http://thepuckettlife.blogspot.com
I had a dr appointment yesterday (31 weeks b/c I somehow got off the "schedule"). I was REALLY scared to weigh-in...but when I did, I was up only 1lb! YAY!!!! After all the CRAP I've eaten over the last few days... My BP was 110/68 ... DOWN from the last appt I had 2 weeks ago (when we were having the week from HELL!!!!) and Alex's HR was 158 (up from the "norm" for him - gotta love all that sugar I ate before I went...).
The doc came in and looked at my stats and says I'm moving right along...Out of the blue, he says - "You're really doing superb with your weight!" Awwwwww!!!!! I have 2 friends from work that recently had their babies who I referred to him and BOTH of them gained an excess of 50 lbs (one gained 50lbs before 28wks). He measured me and I'm measuring at 36 weeks...which is NORMAL for me (I measured BIG with DD too - the referred to her as "Baby Shamu" til she was born and weighed 7lbs, 6oz...). He says "Never fear, we know how he's coming out!" as if I WERE concerned...I know what's up...but deep down I wanted another u/s so I say..."Yeah, but don't you wanna..." and HE says "Well, of course, my dear! We'll check as soon as I come back from vacation!" So....sounds like I get to see Alex again!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be 34 weeks when I go back, so we'll PROBABLY schedule an u/s for 35/36ish weeks(?)!!!!! I had one at that point with DD and it was AMAZING!!!!!! The 3D pics REALLY DID look like her!!!!!!
Anywho! My doc is FABULOUS!!!!!! I heart him!!!!!!! LOL!
I can relax...school is OUT and I won't go back til October!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
Meggie, if you read this - I'm ANXIOUSLY waiting to hear what the doc said last - STILL praying for you and Charlie!!! BAKE, CHARLIE, BAKE!!!!!!!!View Thread

A local fire department can inspect your carseat for you - NO CHARGE...at least then you wouldn't have to worry about it at the hospital...They even gave me paperwork that said it had been checked.

I guess the ONE thing I wish I had known was that it is OKAY to hold your NEWBORN allllllllll the time... DD would go through LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG crying jags and I would pick her up every so often because I had always been told that you don't want to hold them all the time because it makes them "clingy"...The Smart Start nurse that came out after I came home explained to me that for the first couple of weeks, they NEED that security...They've been bunched up ("held") for 9 months and then all of a sudden there's all this space...She explained it like they feel like they're falling...WOW!!!! I never realized that! This time, I will hold my LO as much as possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HTH!! GREAT question!!!!View Thread

Feeling ok...REALLY tired, but we've been winding down at work (TODAY'S the last day for the kids - HALLELUJAH!!!!) and I've been feeling the stress of others NOT doing their part... since I need their info for MY students' portfolios... (SAME coworker who is pregnant and uses her pregnancy as an excuse for EVERYTHING...)
Other than that, I'm good...It's getting harder to walk longer lengths without getting breathless, but I'm not uncomfortable yet (PTL!!!!).
Goals...Let's see...Doc appt today - let's hope my weight isn't too crazy, despite end of the year parties (LOL!); yard sale on Saturday to sell DD's clothes to buy the rest of what we need to finish BOTH rooms (not too much to do on either thankfully - just decorative things); finish the stencils in DD's room - ONE more wall left - I'm feeling lucky tonight!

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!View Thread

As it currently stands, Alexander Penn will be here on 8/3 and we're scheduled for 1:30pm. I have to be at the hospital at 12:00 noon. Unless he comes sooner (which is DEFINTELY possible), we'll get to meet our little man then!!!!!! WE'RE SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!View Thread

Angie, TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!!! Sounds like you, Nicki and I will all be having our babies early...
Nicki, all we've done in the nursery is paint and put the furniture back...I haven't even finished DD's room yet (LOL!). I've got some things left to hang up in BOTH rooms, but I feel like things are coming together. I'll be able to REALLY focus on things once school gets out and the yard sale next Saturday...
I told DH the other day that it seems like this pregnancy has passed me by. It feels like I just found OUT I was pregnant, but in 8 short weeks (Lord willing) we'll meet our little man! That's just crazy!!!!
Hugs all around!!!! The 3 of us are right there together - AND I AM SOOOOOOO GLAD!!!!!!View Thread

You should be with a doctor you're COMFORTABLE with... Let's face it, if you're not going to the hospital that he delivers at, you're going to have a complete STRANGER delivering your baby...Is that what you want?
Why not call the hospital that you are wanting to deliver at, get the name of some OBs who deliver there and do some research on who you think would be a better fit...It's not like your doc's assistant will be the one to deliver your LO...Doing this, you'll likely have around 5-6 visits to build a relationship with this new person...
Maybe I'm spoiled. My doc works right next to the hospital, but he's determined to deliver HIS patients' babies. Unlike most practices, he does NOT "make" his patients rotate...but the downside to that is that sometimes wait-time gets lengthy because he may be at the hospital... If your doc doesn't make time for you, don't pay his car payment with your copays/payment schedule... If he doesn't listen to what you want, you don't need to see him... If it's not medically necessary, you shouldn't have a c-section...
Good luck in whatever you do!View Thread

It's had its moments, but I'm over it - afterall, it IS Friday!!!This time next week, I'll be finishing up some last minute paperwork and getting things organized for next year. I have 6 days left and the kids have 4 (PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!). This has been a VERY trying year with many ups and downs, but I won't be back until around the first week of October (HALLELUJAH!!!!!).
I've had BF'ing on my mind a LOT the last little while (not that you guys have noticed my 80 billion questions, right?!?! LOL!). I went Monday and got some shells...they appear to be working on my inversion issue...and causing me to (possibly) leak a tiny amount...When I take them off, I have dried "stuff" on my nipples - which is what it was like when I had to wear the healing ones when I tried to nurse DD...Lord knows, they are TINGLING like mad - what the world?!?!?! I just want to scratch 'em, but I don't guess my class would understand that - lol!
I have a teammate at work who is due 10 days after me, so our grade level threw us a joint shower at work on Tuesday...I got very little off the registry - but I'm NOT complaining!!!!!! We got TONS of clothes and since this is baby #2 and a different sex, that's what we needed MOST (but who actually registers for clothes, right?!). Besides, most of the things on my registry are just "upgraded" versions of what we already have and we don't necessarily "need", I guess...It was REALLY sweet of my coworkers...although there was some drama because the other teammate had several "directives" about what should be done in regards to the shower...we "needed" 2 cakes, and the games that were played had "better" be better than the ones at the last shower and had "better" have better prizes than the last shower...Who says stuff like that?!?!?! I was just REALLY appreciative of the fact they were willing to THROW a shower!!!!
Anywho - we've accomplished quite a bit over the last week...got the front back on the crib and the furniture back in place from painting...got some things exchanged because they were the wrong size...got ALL of DD's clothes and other items out of storage to sell at the church's yard sale next Saturday (I still need to wash some things, though)...got the kitchen and dining room back to "normal" from looking like a disaster area!!!!
We're going out of town this weekend, so I *guess* I'll have to let nesting take a break...LOL! Lord knows, it has hit HARD!!!!! (I was up til 11:30 Monday night cleaning our bedroom and rearranging furniture...) I go back to the doctor next Thursday and we will HOPEFULLY get my c-section date scheduled - we've narrowed it down to 7/31 and 8/2...so I have a LITTLE over 8 weeks left - YIKES!!!
I hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!!! Sorry this was so long!View Thread

We've decided this time, since the hospital has wireless internet and DH has REFUSED to let me get it on my phone (ARG!
), we will be taking the laptop... We have a LOT of family that won't be able to come in when DS gets here, but will be waiting on pins and needles soooooo...that was the ONLY compromise we came up with...unless I win for a month
and get the internet on the phone "just for the hospital"...LOL!View ThreadWomen's Health Newsletter
