Went in on July 22 for a scheduled induction after my amnio showed mature lungs on my little guy. Got to the hospital at 7am and got checked in and all that good stuff they like to do to you. my ob came in and told me the game plan. We were going to do cytitec (spelling unsure) i ended up getting 9 doses plus some pitocin towards the end. We started the first does by noon and i got it every 4 hours. i was having some pretty good cramping that felt like they were getting stronger. i got 2 shots for pain during the night. My ob was off the next morning and i got a male ob whom i did not like. i was having contractions all day Friday and he refused to give me any thing for pain until bed time or until i was in active labor. I have a high tolerance for pain but what he did was not right. He did agree to give me something once i went to bed but that was going to be several hours of which i spent in increasing pain. I got up to go potty and sat in the rocking chair and while i was updating facebook i had a really big contraction and i felt a pop and my water ran all over the chair and floor. I got back in bed and got cleaned up. my contractions increased even more from there. when they checked me i was 4 cm and the male ob agreed to let me have my epi. i'd say water broke at 7:35 and i didn't get my epi until after 10. when they checked me then i was a 6. once the epi was in i was more comfortable and while i could still feel the pressure i didn't feel the pain. I was at 10 cm at 2:45am Saturday morning. i pushed for 31 minutes and he was out. Oh the relief that he was safe and sound. the ob said i only had a scratch for a tear but when i got home and was able to take a bath i'm ripped more then that.
we were released on Sunday at 2:30. it's so good to be home and it's also a big adjustment. Ethan has some jaundice but seems to be doing better. RenaView Thread
