My DH and I still haven't been able to get all of the details worked out to move me out to Georgia to be with him and due to the Army's "unofficial policy" of hurry-up-and-wait it may still be a while if at all. That definitely sucks since his training will not be finished until January or February, but at least we got to see him graduate from Basic Training. I'm attacking a copy of our first family picture to the bottom of the message. It was a wonderful weekend, and very emotional for us both, but I'm glad we were able to go. And to think, if my little Jocelyn hadn't come a month early it wouldn't have been possible!
DH and I were talking the other night about when we want to start trying for baby #2. If you'd asked me when Joss was only a month old, I'd have told you there was no way I'd want to try until she was about a year old, but when DH said he wants to start trying again by next February (when Joss is about 5 mos.) I was actually ok with it. I think the fact that she and I are starting to function on a schedule has a lot to do with feeling that way. I may be crazy but I'm actually looking forward to having another kid in the near future. Part of me is a little scared though since I developed severe pre-e at 36 weeks. I still have BP issues and am on meds to help, but I'm a little afraid that I could develop the same problems again. Everything worked out beautifully this time around in spite of that though, so I know that even if it does happen again the baby and I could still come out just fine. I'm glad that DH and I are talking about it now so I can start praying about those concerns now and rely on God to take care of everything when the time comes.
Wow, this post was a lot longer than I expected it to be. Maybe next time I won't go so long in between posts, lol.
I hope all of you ladies are doing well. God bless you and your little ones!!View Thread
but the Dr isn't too concerned yet. I have to go see him again next Tuesday and if it's still high then he may consider putting me on medication to lower it. He did point out that it can take up to six weeks for my blood pressure to return to normal. On the plus side, I've lost just over 20 pounds already (YAY!) and he said my incision is looking fantastic. I really hadn't realized just how swollen I had gotten until I saw how thin my face became after giving birth and I could see my ankles again. Jocelyn also had an appointment this week. Her two-week checkup was this morning and she is almost back to her birth weight! The Dr said she is looking great and even said she was okay to make the drive halfway across the country to make it to my husband's graduation from Basic Training! Thank you Lord! It makes me so happy to know that my husband will have a chance to meet his daughter in less than two weeks from now. We're going to make the drive in three days so there isn't too much strain because I'm traveling with a newborn, but I'm still a little nervous. I'm going to blame that on new mom jitters, lol.
Sorry this post was so long. If you made it this far then thanks for sharing in my joy! God bless all of you and your precious little ones!View Thread

Yes, God really is great!! My Dr said I'm already doing much better. Jocelyn is still doing great, but she has to stay in the hospital until she stops losing weight or gains a little bit of it back. Other than that she is doing fantastic. No breathing problems, no jaundice or anything like that. I also got some pictures to share with all of you ladies. I know I'm a little biased but I think she's the most beautiful baby there is!

I went into the hospital on Thursday after my Dr found protein in my urine at my regular appointment that morning. He diagnosed me with mild pre-e and was planning on sending me home Friday afternoon until I mentioned that I had an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. With that new symptom he changed the diagnosed me with severe pre-e and decided it would be best for me to deliver my little girl. She was born via c-section later that day.
It was pretty scary at first and the next BP reading they took after telling me that went sky-high. I managed to relax enough that my BP came back down a bit. The discomfort I had was pretty mild so I was afraid that I'd made a big deal out of nothing until the nurse told me that shortly after making the decision to deliver the results on my 24 urine protein test came back and that if I had gone home they would have been calling me to come back in.
Little Jocelyn came out perfectly healthy, even though she was a month early and a little on the small side. She didn't have to spend any time in the NICU, thank God!!! Since delivering my BP has been much better and so far the recovery process from the c/s hasn't been as bad as I anticipated.
Thanks for all the prayers over the last few days ladies. I've definitely seen God's hands in how everything went down.View Thread

Baby is doing great, but the Dr diagnosed me with mild pre-eclampsia and will be scheduling me for delivery next Thursday when I hit 37 weeks. It will probably have to be a c-section since my little girl is quite happy in the breech position and shows no desire to turn around. He said I should get to go home here in just a few hours but that he'll be seeing me everyday until Thursday. I guess my little girl is going to be a July baby!View Thread
I've never lived in GA before but I have visited. And being from TX I'm used to it being uber-hot. It's been consistently in the upper 90's- 100's for the last month. I can't wait for winter, lol!View Thread

I asked my Dr about the likelihood that he'll induce me early because of the gestational hypertension and he said that as long as it doesn't develop into pre-e that I'll most likely go full term. He did say though that since I will be moving halfway across the country (from TX to GA) almost immediately after my due date that he might well deliver me at 39 weeks so that I have time to recover from the birth before I travel. That's a relief! I was starting to stress out about the timing of moving and having the baby and all of that so it was very nice to have him tell me that.View Thread
