Hi guys, yes I'm back again, and guess what, with another question yet again. I finally saw my pain specialist today, and along with several other hopefully good suggestions on how to deal with my back pain, she suggested shots of human growth hormone. Has anyone had this procedure done?? Or heard of anyone who has?? My doc has only done the procedure a few times, but has had atonishing results from it. Just curious. She's also going to see if my insurance will approve a tens unit. Got my fingers crossed. Hope everyone is feeling good and having a good week. Thanks for any advice.
HI guys. Learned something interesting when I saw my back doc last week. I was told that degenerative disc disease when I was originally diagnosed about two year ago, but never really knew what that actually meant till last wednesday. You see arthritis runs on my mom's side of the family and my doc finally told me that that was what I have. Arthritis in my back!!! It makes sooo much more sense now. Anyhow, he gave me a refill on my meds and yet another referral to a pain management specialist. Still waiting to hear from them, giving them til tomorrow to call, if not gonna call my doc back. Have another pain block scheduled for next tuesday. Hopeing to get more than one day pain free. We'll see. Been doing better the last few days since I started exercising in the evening. Maybe that'll be the key. Who knows? Defiantly gonna bring it up with the doc who does the pain block. Take care and have a good week.
My friend Debbie on the Bipolar Support Page is a wiz about disability. She used to work with a group that helped people get bennifts. Her screen name is ddnos. Tell her Jessica sent you. She's a doll and should be able to help ya. If not, like Joy said, consult a good disability attorney. I was denied the first time and like many had to hire an attorney in order to get my benifts. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice guys. Back is still killing me, so I called the doc who did the procedure back like she told me to and scheduled another pain block. Hoping against all odds that something will break SOON!! Back hurts so bad today even with hydrocodone that I'm practically in tears especially whenever I cough. See my doc tomorrow and I'm gonna have an earful for him. Hope everyone is having a better day than I am. Take care my friends.
Thanks Joy. Called doc's office who did the injections. She's not my actual doc, just someone who helps my doc out on days he's not in surgery. I like her though. Anyway, spoke to the nurse who spoke to the doc and I was given the all clear to take my normal meds after 2:30. (Turns out I wasn't supposed to have taken anything last night, which might explain my pain. Don't know. Kinda ticked off at the people at the surgi center because they didn't mention me not being able to take my meds til 24 hrs after the procedure. Anyhow, gonna google like you mentioned, see what I can find. When I had injections in my elbow took some time to kick in, but it's now 1 1/2 days later, and my back is still knotting up and bothering me. Sigh..... Anyhow, thanks. Have a nice week-end.
Hey guys, sorry to just pop up lately on when I'm in trouble, but back has been killing me for the past few months and I can barely stand to type. Elbow too, even with a brace.
Anyhow, still haven't heard from the pain doctor, life is sorta in ruins, but I'm still chugging along. Here's my latest issue. Yesterday I had steroid injections in my lower back and they were supposed to help with the pain. I was fine after the procedure and felt great most of the day til I tried to go to sleep. Couldn't get comfortable for nothing. And I'm still having spasms this morning. I'm gonna call my doctor's office after I post this, but wanted to know if anyone on the board has had issues after steroid injections. Take care and have a good week!!!
my gp won't even prescribe pain medicine anymore. She just refers me to my back doctor or asks if I can wait a day or two for the pain to decrease. Do you have any idea how bad that is over a week-end??? Horrible!!! I've had it so many times with our insurance company over so many different things that if my husband's job wasn't the highest paying he's landed in his "field" and his employer didn't take such good care of their employees I'd tell him to quit and find something closer to either his sister or my family. That's how much I had our insurance. And my bipolar friends know even more about my "run ins" with my company. I think everyone who works there should have some type of medical training as a prerequisite for their jobs. The only understanding insurance workers I've ever run into are my cousins, and I don't know if they were just nice to me because we're family, or what.
Anyway, that's my rant. Have a good day and hope I didn't offend anyone.
Thanks for the info and advice. Right now I'm waiting for my doctor's assistant to contact the clinic he wants me to attend. She's been out sick since Friday, poor thing. There's a nasty bug going around my part of Texas. Once I have that info I can look them up on my insurance's web page and get more info. Something that is helping is my darling husband bought me a massage chair cover that is to die for. I've wanted one for years and the Aldi's we shop at was getting rid of the last of their stock and we got one for $35. I love it!!!!! Will keep you all informed. Right now I just wish it was all over. My back is driving me crazy and my bipolar is creeping into the danger zone. Sigh. If it's not one thing it's another. Take care.
Morning my darling friends. I saw my back specialist yesterday, and due to my continuing problems and young age, he now wants me to see a pain specialist. I've never seen one, nor do I know anyone personally who has. Would appreciate any advice on what questions to ask, what to expect, etc. You guys have been so great with advice in the past, but I have no idea what to expect and I've heard some "horror" stories from other people on other boards, so I'm a little scared. Thanks in advance. You all are awesome!!! Take care and have an awesome week-end.
