yeah i have chronic back issues, three herniated disks ddd etc. have an appt the fifteenth and will bring it up to him then. also have had xrays and an mri, and am waiting on the results of my emg. my dr encourages the use of chiropractic care, not as a fix, but as a pain relief tool. thanks for your suggestions, i was just seeking other peoples experience etc.View Thread

know this is an old message, but since it came up when i searched, i thought id add my experience for others who search. i have fibromyalgia and this is a life changer for me. it has finally (for the first time in my life) given me true pain control. i have next to no side effects, except for mild itching at the patch site. it allows me to get up in the morning eithout my old regime of meds, heating pad, waking up an hour or two early so i can move by work... and more sleeps always a good thing lol! i am on 10mcg righy now, prolly will move up to 20mcg at my next refill. i was really afraid to try it, as its a newer med and has mixed reviews... but please give it a shot if your dr recommends it.View Thread

its tylenol 3, i believve the script said 60 mg of codeine with 300 mg of tylenol. i had been on the hydrocodone for fibro, it just isnt cutting it now with the spine issues. my previous dr had me on percocet for a few yearsbefore it became so controlled. i remember it helping way more. honestly id like to try something time released, im having a lot of trouble at night waking up between three and four in misery, and then cant get back to sleep bc of the fibromyalgia. im hoping if meds kept the pain under control i wouldnt be waking up. plius from what im reading time release is better for chronic pain, and at this point im realizing this is going to be a lifelong issue, i might as well figure out a way to control my pain.View Thread

this time it is my mother! she's been battling with sciatica since february. We are all getting very frustrated... she gets some better, then slides backwards. Had a lumbar xray that showed a bulging disks in L4-5 i believe. she is getting terribly frustrated, grumpy and depressed. some things just don't line up as "normal"... she CANNOT walk for any distance without having extreme spasms etc. some days she cannot sit comfortably. She hates taking meds, and it isnt helping that the vicodin is not helping at all, she only uses it when in extreme pain, but gets frustrated because she cant use it unless she skips the tylenol first... let me back up... she is on an NSAID, taken twice a day and the dr has her trying to bridge with tylenol or vicodin depending on what she needs. Is there a pain med out there that doesnt have tylenol in it, so she could take her tylenol and if not effective, she could then take a pain mmed?I was was thinking that a friend of mine with liver problems had taken oxycodone without tylenol (NOToxycontin, but IR oxycodone)... I wish she would talk to the dr about finding a pain med that works for those extreme times (ususally maybe twice a week?). so whats available out there?View Thread
