I suffered an injury over 4 years ago and have been dealing with back pain and leg pain. in addition I also have weakness and loss of feeling in both legs. I have had 2 micro discectomies at l4, l5 on the left side. The surgeries provided al lot of pain relief however in a short time it all returned. I tried nerve blocks but that just seem to put a bandaid on the issue. I have been in constant physiotherapy for the past 2 and a half years. I recently had another MRI which revealed a large herniation at L4 L5 effecting the right side nerve root plus a moderate buldge at L5 S1 and moderate to advanced facet degeneration from L3 to S1. I have constant lower back pain, no feeling from my right knee down, radicular pain in both legs and very little to no strength in my legs, making it difficult to walk.I am on Lyrica for nerve pain and tramacet for regular pain. I am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow and I am not sure what my opions are going to be. From all I have read it looks like fusion, however I am not a surgeon. My main concern is I do not want another "bandaid" fix. Thoughts or commentsView Thread
