Hello, I'm new to this site glad I found Ya'll ! Oct I had a fusion L4 L5. with 6 screws, bone graph, spacer's,I had 2 blown discs stenoisis, and RLS , surgery was 5 1/2 hrs long, 4 days in hospital. I'm now about 2 1/2 months after surgery, I'm taking nothing, I went to a party 6 days ago ,first time I wore flat shoes not sneakers. Now my ankles are swollen my feet tingle and I have leg pain. (before my surgery I had 32 shots 4 epidurals this year alone) I have some back pain, I can't bend over much at all. Is this normal ? Is it nerves growing back ? I'm 46 have always been VERY active, now I can't do much, all the shots and low activity caused me to gain 20 #'s, I'm trying to walk but the swollen ankles hurt.. I fought surgery for 5 years cuz I was worried I would be worse off. I did take Klonopin 4 RLS B 4 surgery, Any help or what worked for you would be gratefully accepted. Thank You Much. Joy, Thanks so much 4 the reply, my surgeon told me to go back to the PM people, he ONLY does the surgery, he told me to walk in water and come back in 3 months as the x rays look good, THAT"S IT. So I don't know if I'm on target or not, and yes I'm in early stage about 3 months after surgery. I also have the rod and cage, I made a appt. to go back to PM after the holiday cuz I had RLS before surgery but not this bad and my feet are still swollen and my back swells where i had the surgery sometimes. I did have a nerve test B4 surgery. I am very grateful for the people on here cuz I'm not sure where I should be in my recovery. I also think the added weight is not helping Thanks Again AmyView Thread
