keloids to form internal that is also on the pancreas has anyone had this happen or heard of this complication from gastric bypass surgery and if so, any advice or information on how to correct this problem?View Thread
I'm also in the slow-down phase after surgery and it's tough to drop those pounds. Had to up my regular workout - the same old same old wasn't enough. I also did the 5 day pouch test to remember the tightness my pouch once was - it also helps get back into the good way of eating. You find it at http://www.5daypouchtest.com/
also for support and information. Check out www.thinnertimes.com There are a lot of us on there giving support and information.
Good luck!View Thread

I know it really takes major life changes to be successful. I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback... positive and negative!
I have been overweight my entire life and feel like I have tried every diet! I just can not stick to anything. It also seems like I never get full.
I am truly hoping I'm ready to make this change. I REALLY need it.View Thread
I am preparing for a lap band. I have been looking into where I can get the calcium and vitamins I'll need. I was told to use calcium citrate. I have only been able to find that in a pill form...not chewable. There is one that has calcium citrate and calcium caltrate in it that's chewable. I wanted to find one nearby so I would be able to get it when I needed it instead of ordering by mail all the time. What are others using that had the band done? ThanksView Thread
I felt the same way. My surgery was on June 23 and for the next month, or month and a half, I was completely miserable. I constantly threw up, the incision in my side was so painful, I cried over and over and basically wondered what had I done to myself. I even ended up back in the hospital because I got dehydrated.
But don't give up! I promise that you won't feel that way for ever (even though it feels like it right now.) My best advice is to always have your pain pill, your nausea pill and a bag with you in case of emergency. Soon, your good days will start to outweigh the bad ones, and you'll be fitting into your clothes in ways you never thought possible. And it's going to be worth it! I've already lost 60 pounds and I can't begin to describe the joy I feel. Yes, I still take my nausea pill most every day, but it's easing up all the time.
My husband encouraged me to write a blog about my experiences (www.citizen-times.com/weightlossjourney ) and it's interesting to go back to my early entries and see how things have changed. Please check it out with your wife; it sounds like our experiences have been very similar. I'm very open about the surgery, so if there's anything you'd like to ask, please feel free to do so. I don't mind answering any questions.View Thread
