I just wanted to share my feelings about this board. I have been a member of webmd for many years and it has been constantly changing to a different format. I must admit that it is growing old changing so much so fast. I know you can't please everyone but somewhere, this has to stop.
I have been having a rough time lately. My case got moved to a trial and I am not mentally ready but will be glad that is over with. I will have advocates with me plus a friend.
I came back here to let you all know I will not be returning to WebMD anymore and moving on. If you want to friend me on FB. Let me know by pm(private message me on FB) and I will friend you. Good luck to rest of you on your endeavors wherever you go and plans.
I am on it as well. In a combo of meds such as Depakote and Abilify are my core meds for bipolar. For anxiety, Klonopin and for nightmares for what happened to me almost 2 years ago clondidne. And for sleep it is Lunesta. So it varies individual to individual on medications. Some may work for one person may not work for another.
I am adding my two cents here. I see many of you very concerned about the mental health system possibly be changed which some of you think will drive those who are truly sick back under the cocoon and not seek treatment. I think more funding for mental health is a better option. Writing to your representatives letting them know your concerns about the laws. Yes, drs and therapist have to report the individual for possible attack another person. I forgot the name of the law but I studied this in Social Work and know this. Again it is difficult to tell if the individual is planning anything unless the patient is a danger then the dr. must do something to keep him or her safe. Right now our state is cutting funding for many services and it is hurting the businesses that work with mentally ill. One agency I go to refuses to accept Medicaid because lack of payments. Our state is so far behind on payments that places are refusing to accept them. I plan on writing to my area representative about my concerns. I suggest you try writing to them to put pressure on them. Let them know your concerns.
RE: 2nd amendment which is the right bear arms. Yes, those who are not med compliant or MI they cannot hold any guns. So I am shocked to find out that shooting in Connecticut the mom had guns in her house while she was trying so hard to get him help but all else fails. She should've not gotten the guns in the first place if she knew he was ill. That shocked me beyond my imagination. I can understand her circumstances such as DV issue.
