My Story:
Well, it's high time to update this thing, so here goes.

Approximately 3 years ago, I began a venture into the Mental Health system. What started as dysthemia and generalized anxiety order progressed to a diagnosis of major depression, then bipolar 2. With it came the return of the epilepsy I suffered from as a child. Then came the PTSD diagnosis on top of the bipolar. Most recently, they've added a Borderline Personality Disorder and non-specific dissociative disorder diagnosis to the Bipolar, Anxiety and PTSD issues. The last set of diagnosis more or less explained a lot.

As I've fought for Social Security (still doing that) I've had to learn to do much on my own with only a psychiatrist to help. Anything I have learned or accomplished came from various resources ranging from books, articles and workbooks to support communities. But most of all, I think my path to recovery has been simpler because I've accepted my diagnosis as fact. Once I did, life got a little bit easier.

My life is a giant roller coaster of ups and downs and varying struggles ranging from providing for my own personal welfare to coping with my illnesses. The illnesses do NOT define who I am. They are simply another facet of my personality. Looking back is no longer an option. I can only work on today.
