hey Susie... got a link? Also right now in Ontario there is a HUGE fight going on between the Government (Ontario) and the Pharmacies (not pharmacutical Industry) regarding having Generic drugs cost about half what they do now (thus pharmacies get half the payments for drugs that they use to..and they are pissed about that) Is a long complicated issue..
Bottom line, if/when it passes, generic drugs should be wayyy cheaper here (in Ontario only at this point) however dispensing fees will go up (ie one main drugstore here charges 11$ per prescription onto of the price of the med....some are less especially if it's a small pharmacy) So I will keep you updated re that..when I know.. I'll let everyone here know... (no I'm not sure about links to online pharmacies in Ontario, but wil ask my drugstore for a good one and opost the link..)
Hey Doodles, I'm really glad if any of this info will help anyone, however as posted previously I copied it straight from another board where one of the WebMD staff posted it.. so the credit must go to them... However I will be happy to know if it does help someone... Hugs SnowyView Thread
ok, this is totally taken word for word from another webmd board, and the credit goes to one of WebMD's staff, but I thought it might be helpful here too.. apparently these are resources where you can get free or cheaper med help in the US.... hope it helps someone..
HRSA.gov --Have you heard of HRSA-supported health centers? They care for you, even if you have no health insurance. You pay what you can afford, based on your income. These include dental, immunizations, and mental health care resources.
BenefitsCheckUp.org -- “Many older people need help paying for prescription drugs, health care, utilities and other basic needs. Ironically, millions of older Americans — especially those with limited incomes — are eligible for but not receiving benefits from existing federal, state and local programs.”
Free Clinics-- Use the search to find state and local free clinics and see if one is near you.
NeedyMeds.org Clinics--You do not have to provide any documentation to validate your income. You do not have to provide any other form of identification, such as proof of citizenship or “green card.”
