My Story:
Hi, my name is Debbie, 48 years old, and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I was diagnosed with Bipolar II, DDnos, and Social Phobia. Though I have been living a fairly stable life with the help of meds and therapy for the past 22 years, life has currently become a bigger challenge for me than ever both physically and mentally/emotionally. But "Hope" is the driving force of my life! I live and breathe hope! Hope gets me from one step to the next! And Hope reminds me that things WILL get better!

I am not, and never will be, defined or dictated to by my mental illness! I am so much more than that! Life is choice! I am responsible for how I live today in spite of my history or any mental illness!

I believe that all of us are capable of living happy, productive lives and contribute to society just like anyone else who doesn't have a mental illness. It doesn't just happen overnight or without our own participation, but it is no doubt possible!

I always say that healing and the road to recovery can be attained by getting on the right medication(s), therapy, and self care. When I invest in all three of those things, health and healing is inevitable - but not easy!
