My Story:
Hi ya'll!! Well my name is Dacia (day-sha) and I live in Michigan. I have had bipolar disorder type 2 for about 5 yrs or so. The above pic is my beautiful 2yr old daughter Marisa. We were in Florida when this was taken.

I am married to a wonderful man who supports me in anyway I need, and is very patient with me, although there are times that he probably wanted to hide my body in various places. LOL We have been together for 10 yrs. I feel very fortunate that I have someone like my husband, and I know there many people who do not have this kind of support.

This community has been very helpful for me. Its a place I can go to and just bitch away and vent all I need too, and nobody tells me to shut up or I am not important enough to be heard, and best of all, I am not judged by anyone.

I love to have fun with people, laugh with them or even laugh at them (in a kind way) I also love to cook!!! I have a favorite recipe that I love because its a different way of making Apple Crisp. Its soooooooooo good!!

Nilla Apple Crisp
4 large Fugi apples (get them @wal-mart)
1/2 Cup packed brown sugar (divided)
2tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 Cup quick cooking oats (oatmeal)
1/4 Cup COLD margarine (stick butter)
25 Nilla Wafers crushed (about a cup of crumbs)
Cool Whip

Heat oven to 350
Toss apples with 1/4 cup bwn sugar, 1tsp cinnamon in a medium bowl. Spoon into a 8 or 9 inch square baking dish.

Combine oats remaining sugar and cinnamon in that medium bowl, cut in margarine either with a pasrty blender or use 2 butter knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in wafer crumbs, sprinkle ontop the apples.

Bake for 30 to 35 mintues or intil the apples are tender, serve with cool whip or cinnamon icecream, or what ever is good for you.

You also can substitute ther brown sugar with the Splenda Blend brown sugar, which I think makes the recipe taste better, and if you are diabetic, you can also have a little bit if you use the splenda blend, and sugar free whip cream. Of course eat it in moderation. If you are on a diet substitute nilla wafers with reduced fat ones and cool whip lite whipped topping.

Its also a great dish to bring in on Thanksgiving Day!! If you need to make more just double the recipe. I like to add more cinnamon and brown sugar, makes it a little better.

Anyway eat and enjoy!! :)
