In one picture, she is carrying a loaded knapsack over her shoulder, wearing a see-through/low-cut shirt with no sign of scarring and swelling anywhere. In others, she is sporting a fully normal-looking bosom; and in another she is lifting what appears to be a heavy pot with no sign of any difficulty in doing so, and in yet another, taken only 6 weeks after her supposed procedure, she is carrying her five-year old son, supporting him on her arm with no difficulty as he rests against her chest.
I would urge people (especially those who have actually HAD a mastectomy) to take a look at these pictures and decide for themselves; you can Google "Angelina Jolie Congo trip" or you can visit the Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt forum Femalefirst dot co dot uk and look at the "Angelina Jolie mastectomy fraud' thread. If this woman is indeed perpetrating a FRAUD then it is important that people take a stand against it, and who better to speak up against this shabby stunt than those whose suffering is GENUINE!View Thread
I am 38 yrs old and have recently been diagnosed with IDC, last year June my GYN sent me for a mammo, which then turned to having a biopsy in my left breast, good news was it was fibroadenoma.
2 months ago under persistence by my mother to continue to do self examinations I found a lump in my right breast. After an MRI & ultrasound another biopsy was done, and 4 days later the news came back I had cancer.
All I remember is hearing the word cancer and anything said to me after that was a blur. Almost 3 weeks ago I had a genetic screening test done, and last week an MRI ( which showed the other breast was okay). I'm scheduled for the 22nd of this month to have a lumpectomy and lymph node removal. But lately I've been wondering if just having a mastectomy would be a better choice. I have so many thoughts and confusion going on in my head and my doctor and medical team keep urging me to deal with all that is going on. So here I am reaching out, because I don't know how to deal or maybe express myself.
I've never done a discussion so I apologize if I'm not saying the correct things or if I'm all over the place. I'm just trying to figure out where to start. Thanks for listening.View Thread
We would appreciate any information that would steer us in the right direction.

A bit of background information. My girlfriends mother (and hopefully my future mother in law someday, is 61, and generally in good health. (some high cholesterol but nothing else major) She noticed a lump in her breast recently (her last checkup was 3 years ago) and went in and they did a scan/biopsy and the results came in last week as to the tumor being malignant unfortunately. The good news is that they said its in the early stages and thus they're going to proceed with a lumpectomy and probably radiation afterward.
Here are the questions, please forgive my ignorance as I know nothing about breast cancer (especially being a guy) and am in the beginning stages of research so some of these ?s may seem silly.
1) Is it beneficial to start the lumpectomy asap? What is the window of time to make the decision in terms of time itself affecting the possible growth of the tumor?
2) Can she still exercise (golf) or go to a sauna or could that negatively affect the tumor?
3) is light exercise beneficial ?
4) dietary restrictions?
5) general advice/tips before the procedure in terms of things she can do to get in optimal health beforehand.
6) generally is it best for her to keep her overall activity levels low (low movement, etc try to avoid stress) or does this have no outcome on the progression of the tumor itself.
7) Clothing choices that are preferred when you have a malignant tumor or is this a non issue. (Bra s etc)
Is there a preferred sleeping position? (On back, side ? Don't sleep on stomach face down for example?9) Basically is there anything that's been known to accelerate or has the possibility to accelerate the growth of the tumor before the scheduled procedure.
10) how much does this procedure price range vary in Illinois compared to Wisconsin or Indiana?
11) how basic or general is this procedure and how experienced should the physician be at the minimum, are there physicians who specialize in lumpectomy?
12) what are all of the various grants and other financial programs out there to assist breast cancer patients , how long does it take to find out if you re possibly approved once submitted and if approved can you immediately utilize this? (Timeline ?)
13) are supplements OK before the procedure or are there certain vitamins that are discouraged or could even be detrimental?
14) how important is getting enough rest before and after the procedure?
15) are there any other general health related check ups or inquiries she should do before the procedure for peace of mind?
16) what is the range of price points for the lumpectomy/possible aftercare treatments and where does this discrepancy derive from? (Physician/hospital/reputation/advanced equipment fees)
Again thanks to all and any responses to this long thread!View Thread
It is rainging a some more then most of us like but now all the trees have buds on them and some flowers are coming up and the dirt is getting washed away from winter. Oh it is looking like spring I am so very happy. Big smile on my face
Just for a little fun here are some questions. So let see what does every one like best about spring and what are some of the things you do when it first arrives ?
I love watching the birds come back and flying and playing around in my yard.
I also love to watch everything blooming and coming back to life or should I say waking from a long winters nap.
Going for walks and looking at all the flowers blooming is so enjoyable for me.
Watching children outside running and having fun again that is the best.It brings me back to when I was young and outside having a good time.
Ok Now things I do when it gets like this start digging in the dirt so I can plant my veggie garden.
Planting some flowers, checking on the ones I already have that come up every year. Like my rose garden oh they are so pretty each year I am planing to add more to them this year.
I love to get out and walk more to see what everyone else has done in ther gardens and maybe get some new ideas for my yard. Plus getting to see everyone outside and talk with them after a long cold winter.
Well this is what I like about spring what about some of you what do you like about spring. ?
Here is to spring and more warm days outside have a great day angel hugs Roberta,View Thread

At the moment Boston is under siege - 2 bombs have exploded and 2 more have been discovered and dismantled, and at least 2 people are dead and 28 injured.
New York and Washington are under high alert, and it is so very scary.
Please pray for those trying to get out of Boston to do so safely.
My family is about 8 miles from Boston and I can't tell you how frightening this all is.
Right now it is unclear if it is terrorism or a random group.
Again, pray hard! I feel so small in the scheme of life right now.
Thanks for listening and God Bless.

hey they have to because living gets better with age too. lol.lol. Just like a good wine it gets better with age right lol. I was told by my breast care doctor at my 5 year appt that being triple neg and hitting 5 years is great news and each year after that my chances of it coming back are very slim. I did not know this that being triple neg your less likely to get cancer again after 5 years then it get less and less as the years go by. This made me feel so much better and all my test results are great so all is good so celebrated real big this year plus my birthday was this month hit the big 50 so made it count lol.lol. It was a very happy month for me and year for that matter. Now I am going to keep it that way by staying strong healthy and postive as always. have a great day ladies and stay strong healthy and postive your self and smile because one smile goes a long way angel hugs Roberta,View Thread
