I had a lumpectomy and 26 radiation treatments 2 1/2 years ago, and so far, so good. My lymph nodes were negative also which is a VERY good sign. However, just a note of caution. My sister, who was about 40, was found to have calcium deposits in one breast and the biopsy showed it was cancerous, but she elected to have a double mastectomy anyway since my mother passed away at 34 of breast CA. The lab results from pathology showed that she also had CA in the other breast that was not visible on the routine mammogram. So, obviously that was the best choice for her. Best wishes for a very long and healthy survivorship!!View Thread
