As ou all know I posted a few months ago about my mother. Well, she is fine now. I just went in for my annual with my gyno. Being the ripe old age of 35, and my mother having breast cancer he sent me for a mammo. I thought no biggie! Boy was I wrong. They picked up a knot in my left breast. I go back next Thursday for a sono, and spot compression to see if it is anything to worry about. I am not scared! Sounds strange, but I have prayed about it put my worries in God's hands. Y'all were such a big help when I went through this with my mother, I thought that I would share. Hope everyone has a great weekend.View Thread

Her muga scan was fine and she was cleared for surgery. The PET scan showed that there was no signs of mastatsis any where else in her body! I was very relieved to hear that.
On Thursday we had to be at the hospital at 6:00 am for her surgery at 10:00. At around 8:00 they took her to the breast center to get the radiation shots for the sentinal node byopsy. The they started preparing her for surgery. One of the surgical nurses called about an hour into it and told us she was fine. ( I worried about surgery, because she also has several other health issues.) About 45 minutes later the Dr called to let me know that she was done in surgery and was headed to recovery. He was able to remover just the lump and got good margins around it. The sentinal node came back negative! We were so excited that it had not spread to her lymph nodes! He was also able to get her Chemo port in with no issues. I feel such a hugh relief now. We will go back to the doctor in two weeks for follow up. If he clears her then, she will likely do 3 to 6 months of low grade Chemo. After that, she should be done and we will have won this battle! Thanks so much for all the kind words and prayers. you don't know how much that means to me and my family!View Thread
