So now we are still waiting for my mom's incision to heal completely. It's getting better and needing less and less packing but we can't start radiation until it completely closes. The surgeon wants to see her again in six weeks.
And now to add another speed bump"026my mom's defibrillator needs changed soon. Her cardiologist wants her to have the radiation before he changes it because he doesn't want the radiation to fry the new one. Both docs today said that with the defibrillator being on the left side and the radiation going to the right side, it wouldn't be a problem with how precise they do radiation now. So the radiation oncologist (who we have yet to meet but go see next week) is supposed to call the cardiologist before our appointment so that they can agree on everything. Ugh.
Overall, today was a good day. Now if we can just find out if she can color her hair again!View Thread

You are a true inspiration and rock on!
Wishing you many more healthy and happy years....

However, she had her pet scan last saturday. The oncologist hadn't called her with the results yet so she asked the surgeon today if he got a copy. He reviewed them with her and something showed up on her one vertebrae. He said it looks like arthritis to him but the oncologist will have to review it. We don't go see him until April 4th.
Instead of getting easier, it feels like things keep getting harder and harder. I'm beyond the point of scared and worried. I feel like if I breathe wrong something else will come up. I don't know how much more I can take.
Thanks for letting me get this out.View Thread

Sending you and Kaiden big prayers and big hugs!!!
Thanks for all you do,

My mom got her drains out today! It took a little longer than we expected since she developed a hemotoma in her chest. The doctor waited for it to drain itself and after 3 weeks, it's all drained. On Tuesday we met with the Oncologist and he gave my mom all the options and she agreed to do radiation and hormone therapy. He was happy with that and if said if she was his mom, that's what he would want. All of her doctors have been friendly and supportive, with great personalities. The only thing that worries me now is he wants her to have a PET scan too. Last Sept when she was diagnosed, a CT scan and bone scan was done before she started chemo and they came back clear. Now I'm praying this is clean too. It seems like I'm always worring about something anymore, and I hope after this I can breathe again. This has been such a ride...View Thread
