My lobular cancer has recently spread to my abdomen. A colonoscopy revealed thickening several places in my colon and an endoscopy revealed thickening of my lower stomach. A biopsy was done which indicated my lobular PE positive and her2 negative cancer was back. I just started today on Afinitor and the tumor biopsy is be genetically mapped to see what other treatment may help.View Thread
my stage 3c diagnoses went to stage 4 just a couple of weeks ago. my doctor caught it with tumor markers in my blood. I'm sorry not to be more encouraging but there really are more treatments and meds that can help. There is also genetic sequencing to see which part of the tumor genetics responds to what kind of treatment. i'm feeling pretty optimistic.View Thread
Hi Blaze, My brother decided to take a diet based approach and died 3 years later from colon cancer. He had surgery but did not follow up with chemo or radiation. I've read a book called "Cancer, a New Way of Life" which tells you to follow your doctors treatment suggestions, but also make sure you're keeping you body as healthy as possible through diet and exercise.
I have stage 4 breast cancer and have been trying very hard to be mostly vegan and avoiding sugar and processed foods. I exercise with weights at least 2x weekly.View Thread
I was a stage 3c until about 3 weeks ago. My lobular cancer returned to my abdomen after double mastectomy, chemo and radiation. as well as the anti estrogen drug. I am 66 years old and still very optimistic about new treatments and drugs. I hope this is not too much of a downer for you.View Thread
Dear Sadblossom, I've been on Arimidex, Femara and Aromasin. They all kept me awake at night with muscle and joint pain. My doctor (Internist) started me on Celebrex which helped a lot, then Cymbalta. I am four and a half years out. and have had no joint or muscle pain in the last two years unless I forget to take them for a day.
A few weeks ago I discovered that my breast cancer has spread to my abdomen so I'm taking Afinitor along with Aromasin to further inhibit estrogen production. I hope the joint pain stays controlled.View Thread
