Although I have not shared your experience, I do know that I love the warmth of a hot shower or bath as it relieves the tension I seem to carry with me too often. I will get into the shower and the moment I feel the hot water on my body, my shoulders relax! I can see and feel them almost slip into a relaxed position...this despite the fact I had not been aware of being tense before that!
Perhaps that is what is happening to you...Your stress level is set to full throttle and you poor ole bod is screaming to be able to relax!
Whatever the reason, please do mention it to your medical team as it might indicate more than what I am guessing. If not, make sure you take time for yourself and for that warm, candle lit, soft music period of each day!! You deserve it!!
Years back when this site was called Friend To Friend, we truly did become a very caring and supportive group of Friends and referred to the group as "F2F"...I hope that someday all of you may know such a community as it aided us and comforted us and made us feel that together we could make it!
RE: tea and coffee and chocolate, yes, there can be a connection to tenderness. The caffeine apparently has an effect. (Can't give details as it was many, many years ago I learned of this connection, and have since lost the total info.)
Glad to know that the holidays will now progress with a bit more joy than you had feared! And may that 6 month check-up prove just as "nothing"!!
Super news!!!!! So glad thus far all is well...Assume it will remain so until and if you are told anything else. Why waste perfectly good worry??! You may really need it some day and then where will you be??!!
Now, go celebrate the holidays...You've much to rejoice this year so do it up right!! Have a happy and healthy 2015!!
Good for you and your wife to not let this go without being checked! You seem ot be doing a great job at being your own best health advocate, and we salute you for that. You' d be amazed how few are as vigilant as you!
Yes, go back and let them know what is happening...and demand to get some answers! What is causing this? Should you see a specialist? Or get a second opinion? (Highly recommended even by insurance companies!) Could this be cysts of some kind? Or some other anomaly?
Please keep us posted on how you are doing...You will remind in our thoughts and we will continue to hope that all is well!
Re: the nerves regenerating, a few years back my husband had surgery on his neck/upper back area. Over many years his nerves slowly came to life...It seemed for a while there that every week or so, he was suddenly aware of "feelings" where it had been numb since the surgery.
We celebrate you being "cancer free"!! May it always be so!
Have a super Xmas and 2015!! Blessings, RachaelView Thread
Just when the caterpillar thought her world was over, she became a butterfly! Don't give up five minutes before the miracle!!
What a great overview to newbies by one who has been there/done that! Best advice of all? "Enjoy what we can, cry when we want and just take each day or even each hour the best you can."
What joys have come to your life since the day when the world tilted radically, and you began a journey you'd never anticipated! Marriages and births and reminders...sweet reminders of life!! Yes, the "what ifs" have a way of stalking us, but, if it weren't BC it would be another fear I am sure! (Some, such as myself, manage to collect and bundle fears, but not everyone is that talented!! )
So, "Blondie"!! Thanks for the upbeat reminder and encouragement!! Have a wonderful holiday season!!
