For the husbands that currently support your wife battling cancer, hang in there, love her and be there for her every day. There is hope!
For those husbands who, like me, have lost the love of their life, I understand the pain you are or have gone through. Over time the pain lessens and you reach a point that you enjoy the beautiful memories you shared with her and celebrate her life.
For me, life has moved on and last week I celebrated my fourth wedding anniversary with Amy. We have been traveling full-time in an RV for over three years and enjoy it very much.

We live in an area with limited resources and the surgeons are general surgeons. I do not know whether it is worth seeing the surgeon who would likely order an ultrasound guided biopsy/ suggest monitoring.
Should I seek a center of excellence for breast health, or see the surgeon?
(A little about myself: have no family history of breast cancer and have no history of cancer, myself. Had a hysterectomy 30 years ago and am now 70 years old, but in excellent health)View Thread

Don't give up five minutes before the miracle!!
I am back for my "ride" to my yearly mamogram....I come for support every year after having a "scare" several years ago found support in this great group. I lurk around but don't post much but always feel your with me at my appointment...I am over the top with how worked up I get about going to my appt glad they don't take blood pressure as it would be off the charts! So if I may bother you to let me hang out until next Friday Morning at 7:40 when I have my appt I would appreciate it any calming words would be apprecitated. I have had several recalls and about 6 years ago a biopsy...which that just about put me over the top, my mom is a survivor and I spend WAY to much time worrying about "what if" for myself good grief I am 50 and should beable to be a big girl about it but no matter how hard I try going to the appt is very hard for me....thanks in advance for being there with me!!!

And presently Jan (GGrndmaJan / Luckysmom) is having a test to help determine why her PET scan lighted up "like a Christmas tree" (as she describes it.) She is having a bronchosapy today and they will do a biopsy. She should get the results next week which means this week and weekend will be most difficult. She sure could use our support!! Maybe light a candle or two???
Blessings.

Don't give up five minutes before the miracle!!
We are still living and loving the full-time RV life, in New Jersey for a little over a year as an on-site security team. Life is good!
Last year I became an American Heart Association CPR Instructor and have been having a great time sharing CPR skills. Still blogging, my latest insanity is to participate in the A-to-Z Blogging Challenge going on this month. Drop over to my blog at Phoenix Once Again to see me stagger my way through the alphabet through April. The letter C will be about cancer and my views/experiences as a survivor.
In addition to all THAT, I'm diving into the world of Web design and social media management, having been asked by the owner of the rigging and demolition company here to put in place a program for him.
I have been on Facebook quite a while, reuniting with high school friends, work friends and so many others from days gone by. What a hoot! Feel free to look me up there if you wish.
Although I am not around here too often these days, I do consider myself a survivor and an advocate and supporter of those going through the cancer experience.
I think of the ones here I know by name and the ones I may not have met who have joined the Sisterhood. I wish you all more good days than not, peace, strength, love, light and laughter.
Love and gentle hugs to all,

31 March 2011 - Went to family doctor - He was unhappy with my breast exam.
7 April 2011 - Ultrasound. Bad. Tech took tons of screen-shots. Both breasts.
~10 April 2011 - Back at Family doctor. He wanted to send me "To Winnipeg." Not knowing what the heck that meant, as a Military Wife in a strange place, I asked to stay in Brandon. Save a 6 hour return drive. Get sent to a general surgeon.
12 May 2011 - Met surgeon. He wants another Ulrasound.
7 June 2011 - Other Ultrasound. More unpleasantness.
15 June 2011 - Met surgeon again. He wanted to get another surgeon to look at me. Still staying local. Says he doesn't have a lot of experience with breasts. Uh-oh. He wants to remove my milk ducts. Big Uh-oh. A couple of weeks later, first surgeon calls me back in. Wants me to do a galactogram. Other surgeon says nothing should be done, at all. I'm in pain here.
8 August 2011 - Tech attempted galactogram. His hands shook like crazy. Unsuccessful. Bah. Did a mamogram instead. I have very, very dense breasts. Duh, I'm 34!
~29 August 2011 - Surgeon sending me to Winnipeg to see a Surgical Oncologist at, get this, "The Breast Health Center." FACEPALM.
29 December 2011 - Called the Breast Health Center. They didn't get my referal until November.
~5 January 2012 - Got copy of my referal from my family doctor, who made my husband cry over it. Doc was all like, "WTFF?" I'm still in denial, happily.
6 January 2012- Faxed copy of referal (dated 29 August 2011) to Breast Health Center.
21 February 2012 - Going to spend 6 hours in a car going to meet with Surgical Oncologist. Should have done this in May, 2011.
Book me a seat, please? I need the glowey, glittery, feather boa thoughts with me on Tuesday, please.
<3 To you ALL. Even you.
