My son is 6 1/2 he had been complaining of calf pain a few days in the last few weeks. When he did complain it was always in the morning and it was just his calves. He had a fever around 7-10 days ago that lasted a couple of days. His pediatrician wanted him to be tested for MD, but from looking online I don't see that he exhibits many of the symptoms. Other than occasional pain in his calves in the morning, he is very active and can do jumping jacks and push ups and swims almost everyday. I am worried about possible MD, but could it have just been the fever. His CK level was 387, I want to have him tested again to see if it went down. He has not complained of any pain the last few days and has been very active. The pediatrician wants to wait for the orthopedic surgeon to see him to have them do lab work.
Thanks for any input,View Thread
I'm a 24yo F and I've recently started having some medical issues. I've had Focal Atrial Tachycardia for several years, but within the past 4 months I've had abnormal weight gain (about 60 pounds) and pain in my joints (mostly my knees).
Today I had sudden numbness in some of my fingers. In my right hand, my middle finger and ring finger. In my left hand, my pointer finger and my middle finger. It's been going on for about 4 hours now. A little bit of dizziness accompanied and a HR of 132. I'm currently at work and very conflicted if I need to leave to see a doctor. So I was looking for any sort of advice or possibly if someone has been through the same things? Thank you for your input in advance.View Thread
How do I approach new doctor and what should I say so they will take me seriously. How much info should I give them. I am on meds still and have 2 the other pm gave me. I am going to get them filled right? I want to be honest also I have read on other sites to be careful to give out to much info. that may be better left unsaid.
The PM that dropped me I had been going to for 5 years. I thought we had a good doctor patient relationship. I was shocked and still am!!!
I owed some money because of the botox that my insurance didn't pay all of. She kept wanting to do it again but didn't because of the money. I am trying to pay it but I am on a fixed income. Could that be why? She also started me on different med. It may be that. I did get confused on the dirrections. I should have asked her but I didn't. So that it my fault.
Back to the question how should I approach the new doc so he won't see me in a bad light.
ThanksView Thread
Just let me say this now. MAN, WHATEVER!...U Got....Rich, Broke, High, Low, White, Black...U Got someone special, etc. Better Appreciate ALL of it NOW, Every Day. U Don't know when it can B "Snatched" away from U and U, can B Stuck, Alone, Wondering What? Am I going to do? We ALL, take thing's for "Granted", I did. NOT, anymore people, Not.
Ok, so first, I need to know WHAT a Dr. would prescribe "Thiophene" for (ex, High blood pressure, Anxiety, Adult ADD, Depression, Chronic Pain, etc.) It was recently listed on my "Med's List" by a Dr. and I need to know "Why"? NOT! What it's "Chemical composition" is. I can't even find "It" here on "WebMD" and I'm getting concerned. So what, is "Thiophene" supposed to "Correct, Address"?
Also, how does one go about finding an "Anonymous, Honest and Compassionate" (Oh, almost forgot, no charge too, on S.S. after REALLY terrible thing) "Patient's Advocate". Someone that can be trusted. I have some things to either work out with a couple doc's, or get new one's. I Just want to Literally B, "Taken Care Of". Life has become difficult enough. I am too afraid to "Speak Up". I REALLY, Really, need help.
I thank you all in advance for your helpful responses,
and may God Bless you and your's!

So there seems to be a lesson that you shouldn't always be frank with your doctor. I know that this may sound like a lousy thing to suggest, but the fact is that it looks like it's going to cost me $425 to not have said that I didn't notice anything.View Thread
Have high blood pressure but can't seem to take anything for it without a reaction. Tried all the "prils", Ace Inhibitors and Beta Blockers. I take hydrochlorithiazide though. Had a bad reaction earlier last year to Statins. Some days I am fine with good endurance and then the next day, can hardly walk a block without being wiped out and totally out of breath, heart pounding & my lower back killing me. All my tests have come back normal to near normal. I can go sometimes for several days feeling fine and then go several days struggling to do much at all. Don't understand why it changes so drasticly from day to day. I am 58, male. Besides Insulin and the Hydo., I just take vitamins, C,E, Gingko, Fish Oil, and sometimes potassium, calcium and magnesium.View Thread
About two years ago, I started having aching pain in my left arm. It was bothersome for about three days and then became extremely painful one day, accompanied by an episode lasting about two hours in which I lost nearly all feeling in my arm, it was numb and tingly, and it was pretty much dead; I couldn't even lift it. I also experienced slightly slurred speech and confusion. They thought I had a stroke but all my tests were fine. I continued to experience pain, numbness, weakness, and tingling, but within three weeks I was back to normal, as if nothing happened.
About four months ago, the exact same thing happened, same pattern, minus the slurred speech and confusion. Again, a slew of tests, and nothing. Again, within about three weeks, back to normal.
Three days ago, I felt the familiar pain in my arm. It starts out small, like annoying really, and gradually becomes worse. Today, it is hurting a lot; ibuprofen and naproxen barely touch the pain. There are no sharp pains, it's like a dull, deep ache, and my arm feels heavy. I feel like I want to chop it off. During the two previous episodes, at times I could hardly pick up my arm. Even something as simple as buckling my seat belt was difficult and felt like it took all my effort.
I have had MRI's of my brain twice and my cervical spine, but nothing seems abnormal. I also had a nerve conduction study which was normal. I have had umpteen blood tests and even a smear, nothing exciting there.
Both my primary doctor and the two neurologists I have seen don't have any clue.
I have done tons of research trying to explain my symptoms with no luck.
If anyone has any ideas at all, I would really appreciate hearing them.
Thank you!View Thread
Is there anyone else who is going through this and what are you and the doctors doing about this?View Thread
What is the accuracy of this test?
What is the medication for C.pneumonia.
I have been prescribed Doxycycline 100 MG by the doctor twice a day.
It causes me nausea.
Is there any way by which nausea can be reduced without interfering with the healing process of the prescribed drug?
Should i have a chest XRAY or RADIOGRAPH?View Thread
