I know exactly how you feel. I have always been an independent woman and it was and still is very difficult for me to relinquish that status. I got depressed because my symptoms became worse and had to seek out counseling. I too am taking Vitamin D and B-12. The guilt seems to be overwhelming at times and I often feel like I am not a productive citizen anymore. However, the one thing that my counselor and I spoke about was this:
1. Why am I continuing to run the race against myself? 2. What or who is defining who I am and/or will be?
However, the most profound thing that she taught me was this: "know your limitations".
Now that I have accepted that I have limitations, I am seeking parttime work instead of full time work, will ask for help from family, and will take time for myself. I know the guilt can be overwhelming for us Type A Personalities (I am assuming that you are one as well) and relinquishing any type of control can be difficult, but I have learned to let some of it go because all it does is make my symptoms worse. As long as you have an understanding husband and children, dont worry about anyone else or their opinion of you. I had to learn that lesson the hard way. I hope this helps. You can get past the guilt.View Thread
