Hi! Congrats on your pgcy. That is awesome you are thinking about CD'ing. I didn't start CDing until my 2nd was 5 mo old. She is now 21 mo old and I still love it. For a newborn I would recommend prefolds. You go through a ton of diapers those first couple of months and prefolds are inexpensive. Folds are easy to learn. My prefolds are from www.little-lions.com and I love them. I have unbleached indian's. I got the 2nd's which are cheaper and I have no idea why they are 2nd's. www.greenmountaindiapers.com are also supposed to be awesome prefolds. THe nice thing is that you have plenty of time to build your stash before your LO comes. I love thirsties covers but motherease gets rave reviews too.

There are tons of great brands out there. The key is finding the right one for you. They will each fit your LO a bit differently. I like pocket diapers and I love the fuzzi bunz one size but my favorite pocket diaper is the thirsties duo diaper. If you look through on of the threads on here (I think it's the one about covers) I posted a couple of pics of my DD in a thirsties duo diaper. They are by far my favorite. They are getting ready to offer a snaps version too. Some people do not like velcro. The duos come in 2 sizes. Size 1 goes up to 18 lbs and size 2 goes from 18 lbs to potty training.

There are also flips (www.cottonbabies.com ) which you can tri-fold a PF and lay in. I've not tried these but alot of mama's on diaperpin.com and diaperswappers.com love them.

My DD is in daycare FT and her daycare is perfectly fine with CD's. I would suggest keeping it as simple as possible for daycare though. I would either do pockets or AIO's (I don't like AIO"s because they tend to take a long time to dry because the soaker is sewn in.). These are closest to a disposable and will be easier for daycare. I just send diapers, cloth wipes (pre-moistened) and a wetbag for her to put the dirty diapers in. Then I take them home each night. I wash CD's every 3 days. If you BF your baby you dont' even need to rinse the poop until after they start eating foods. You can just fold and wash. Very easy!
