Good Grief! Your husband is one tough old bird! I've had cluster headaches almost every day for many years. I used to have the ice pick in my eyeball. I don't have those any more. I just have the steady headache on my rh side. They begin behind my ear and move to occupy the larger portion of the rh side of my head. I don't have migraines, I know this because my mother suffered with those. They were scary. This just hurts to beat hell allmost every night. I've become drug dependent (Extra Strength Excedrin with about 4 oz of Mtn Dew) It takes about 20 minutes to reduce the pain by about 50%. I leave it there. I once had such a beastly headache continuous for 3 days. I kept taking the Excedrin Mtn Dew until I had to rush to the ER because I was sure I was having a heart attack. The MD checked me out and told me I was having a caffein attack. I didn't know such a thing existed. I have to keep somewhat quiet about these bouts because they frighten my sweetheart of 61 years. Hurting isn't for sissies. I'm sharing this with you with the hope it helps a bit to know that if you are hurting like I do you aren't alone and you can live with it. See an MD. nvcordman.View Thread
