I know you also have tinnitus, and have seen your response in regards to its longevity, especially with the acoustic type. Now, I've had my tinnitus for about 5 years, and I believe from a sudden loud cannon near me, not right next to me, but near me. After 5 years, can it STILL possibly resolve itself? Also, the sound (sounds like a "white" noise) hasn't changed much in that time---does it USUALLY stay the same, as far as type and intensity over the years??
Thank you. Sorry to hear of your schedule change, you are one of the FEW that even bothers to answer questions here in these "communities". And you always do it with expertise and humor!!!View Thread

It would seem I do have allergy eyes, and usually without the nasal symptoms, but sometimes, in the morning, there is hard, gritty "sleep" in the corner of the eye, along with this grit on lower lashes/lid, and they seem alittle more irritated, etc. what is that stuff, and why does it appear one time, and then I can go months before I experience it again?View Thread

as with any medical thing going on with our bodies, TRY NOT TO DWELL ON IT, busy yourself with other tasks, and mask the sound with music, especially if it's particularly annoying when in bed, background noise does help. Unfortunately, stress can aggravate the situation, so learn to relax (I know, easier said than done), think more pleasant, positive thoughts, and get tough, and say, JUST SCREW IT, life goes on, and it is NOT worth losing your life over this. You CAN get a handle on this, until, one day, you'll learn to completely ignore it. Again, crank up music you like, anything to drown out the tinnitus; and, depending on themusic, you can do relaxation techniques too, kill 2 birds with one stone. Nothing is easy, BUT "this too shall pass" is a good mantra!!View Thread

I, myself, and others (I have noticed by their comments) are really disgusted with one of the "communities" on this site, the Sports Medicine community. You can see by the number of "0 replies" that it's useless to ask questions. This is certainly not a credible community to gain any information.
I'm only appealing to you because you DO take the time and answer promptly, and I've admired your approach to your area of expertise, not only knowledge but a sense of humor!! They should follow your example!!View Thread

I know I've asked about tinnitus before, but was also wondering, as in my case, why I also hear heart beating frequently?? And it seems to intensify when stressed/anxious, of which I am 99% of the time, or any increase in activity. What is this wonderful phenomena, if you know? My tinnitus, (and I'm not really sure it is truly that, the dr seemed alittle dubious), is usually just a background "white" kind of noise, but this heart thing, annoying--I know I'm alive, don't need to HEAR it!!
As with everything, it seems, it's probably tied to anxiety of some sort. It's been going on for over a year now (or at least when I started noticing it), and I've had med physicials, etc., with nothing out of the ordinary. ThanxView Thread

My daughter (26) is constantly sick, this past month, she's battled a couple viruses, and now, has the flu. What is the problem here, what should she be checking, indications that something is amiss somewhere?? She takes vitamins, eats healthy, sleeps ok. She does work in a hospital setting (social work), but it will be 4 yrs now, and her immunity should be up there now, and no one else gets ill there??Should SOMETHING be checked here, OR do some people just have weak immune systems??View Thread

For quite a few years now, when having a blood workup, the results always show low WBC, 2.8. I rarely am sick, but worry I don't have the resources needed to ward off any potential illnesses. Can this just be the way my body is?? If this isn't your area of expertise, who would I consult, on this site?View Thread
