After a tissue biopsy from your throat, most agree its going to be very tender for varying periods of time. Based on my own experience, I would recommend the greatest of care during the healing of the biopsy site since your doctor may not advise you about it. If I had to do it again (instead of trying to eat anything and everything) I would stay on a liquid or very soft diet until my throat started to heal and gargle warm salt water to enhance the process. Though, the thing I found that gave me some instant relief when needed was (sugar free) Cepacol Plus throat losenges. There is also something people refer to as a "magic mouthwash" your doctor can prescribe, but I did not find out about that until after the fact.
If you are going to have Radiation/Chemo, I would also recommend getting a 2nd opinion before have any teeth pulled !!!
