I just want to join in and say I have this exact same thing also, all my life, I never gave it much thought but today when I was getting a haircut it was especially bad, so I decided to google it. Great that other people have it too! Shame theres no explanation for it.
Like others have said, it is my right ear (I used to have it on my left ear too but not really anymore, not as bad as the right). As soon as the clippers goes near it it causes my muscles to twitch/spasm all down my back. I have to clench my muscles on my lower back below ribs to try and counteract it.
Like others have said, I also have a very very sensitive/ticklish back, so much so that if I touch my own back in certain places it tickles like crazy and my back muscles spasm.
If I try and contract my muscles on my right side of my back slowly I can even get the same tingly feeling causing it to spasm - so I think thats where the issue really is, and the right ear somehow triggers nerves to it.
Very interesting that the virtual barber audio from the youtube video was able to reproduce this exact same thing, so at least I know now its not related to people being too near me! I hope its something I can grow out of, I hate getting my haircut as it is now when this happens!View Thread
