I have the same problem (workout = eustachian tube swelling/popping) which usually goes away after an hour or two. However, when I do very heavy weights (even with proper breathing) I also can get an intense headache (almost a shooting pain) that slowly fades over the next 4 to 5 DAYS. If I work out with heavy weights again in that time the symptoms (headache, vertigo, discomfort at the base of the skull where it joins the spine) can be more acute and last for up to 30 days.
I've had the full battery of MRI's with contrast dye to make sure I'm not bleeding in the brain or something. Also condition has been consistent from age 22 to age 47.
My question is around the length of time of effects. The eustachian tube clearing in a couple of hours seems like a normal response (ie the blodd pressure and swelling returns to normal so the condition goes away). Are there any reasons that this (possibly related) situation might last for days? Are there any other tests I should consider?View Thread
