I feel that Costco needs to be held accountable for this negligence that their pharmacist did to me. As I said in a prior posting, I have seen my primary doctor, had an X-ray, filled out an incident report at Costco, had an MRI which did show a tear in my supraspinitus (sp??_) have been doing Physical Therapy and then also saw an orthopedic dr
Has anyone else spoke to a lawyer or professional about getting reimbursement for all the expenses and mostly pain and suffering because of a flu shot hit too high???
I am beside myself and don't know what to do.
I don't want to sue Costco, but feel they should be offering help financially for what I have been through.
Has anyone thought about suing?
My biggest fear is that my Orthopedic Dr. said that is should get better, but that in a few months if also could come back and need SURGERY on that arm.View Thread
Do you remember where the shot was administered? Was it put high on the arm? That was what I noticed when I got mine in Oct. I had even asked the pharmacist before he gave it to me if he was truly going to put it there (almost at the very top of my arm/shoulder.)
Yes, sleeping and waking up in the mornings is the worse...besides driving, washing hair and just plain lifting it.
Good luck. I am still suffering after 3 months.View Thread
Got my MRI results. I do have a high-grade partial bursal side tear of the supraspinatus tendon and bursal infammation. This ALL stems from my flu shot on Oct. 8th. My pain is slowly getting better. I feel physical therapy has helped some. The P.T. has applied some Kinetse....? tape to my shoulder. That also seems to relieve the pain.
I have a call into an injury lawyer, but we haven't had a chance to talk yet.
So if you haven't had an MRI, I would suggest you get one to see if there is any damage to your shoulder.View Thread
I posted earlier on about this same issue. I am 9 plus weeks out also from when I was given the flu shot at the Costco pharmacy in Lenexa, KS.
Yes, my pain is definitely better than the first 6-7 weeks. Same deal where I don't need extra heavy duty pain meds anymore.
I am sleeping better, but the pain still wakes me up every night and especially early in the morning. I think that has to do with the fact that the less you move it the more it hurts.(gets stiff)
I finally saw a physical therapist this week. She also had NEVER heard of a flu shot causing such pain.
She was happy that my range of motion was as good as it was. Keep your arm moving as much as possible.
I too sometimes feel that others think I am making this up and that I am crazy!
I am having an MRI on Monday, which I kept putting off thinking every single day---"it has to get better soon!"--And it hasn't
I also have come very close to contacting an injury lawyer, but again have decided against that for now.
Costco has been notified about my flu shot injury and I have been talking w/ a representative from there about every 2-3 weeks. I told her I didn't want to settle UNTIL my arm was completely better. I do hope they will come through with some much needed compensation.
I feel most of the compensation should be for PAIN AND SUFFERING. I am a hairdresser and lifting my elbow to cut hair has been truly challenging. Fortunately, I am only working one day a week because of an illness this year. There is no way I could have been dressing hair 4-5 days a week w/ this arm injury! NO WAY!
have the same pain you have explained. I feel like it is a rotator cuff injury. I am so mad and can't believe I am going through this just because of an improper injection of the flu shot. I had an x ray also and they found nothing!. I had it done at Costco by a pharmacist. He definitely shot it way too high up, almost on the shoulder bone.View Thread
I have had the same problem since I had a flu shot over 2 weeks ago. Same thing. The Pharmacist at Costco gave me the shot. I noticed he had swiped the alcohol swab almost at the top of my shoulder. I then asked him if he was planning on sticking me there for my shot? He did!
I think he also hit a muscle or bone. It was definitely put way too high on my arm (shoulder!) I have truly never experienced this much pain...even when I broke my collar bone 2 years ago.
My question is who paid for all your medical bills, etc.?
I am considering this a lot of pain and suffering. I have not been able to get a good nights sleep because it wakes me up at night! I have already had to get an xray and will probably be needing a steroid shot for pain!!!
Did you have to hire a lawyer? I am considering that only because I get the feeling Costco may not take care of me like they should. So far they have only offered to pay $200. I am not going to do anything about settling until AFTER my pain in the arm is totally gone. For now it hurts so, so bad! My range of motion is almost zero.
What would you suggest?View Thread
