Are you still experiencing these symptoms? There are many different things that can cause tinnitus (blockages in the ear being one) -- here is a list of some of the others possible causes. Sometimes tinnitus can persist after the underlying cause is treated. Have you finished your ear drops, and is your infection gone? Here are some articles that may be helpful for you. The first is about deciphering a simple sore throat from strep or tonsilitis. The second is a slideshow that explains sore throats and has some accompanying photos. Does she have any white or red spots at the back of her throat? How quickly did her sore throat appear? Does she have a fever? If you think it may be strep, it would be a good idea to visit your doctor to get a strep test and antibiotics if she does have strep. Hope these help! Symptoms of strep include white patches in the throat and on the tonsils, as well as red, swollen tonsils -- which sounds similar to what you describe. The slideshow also contains photos that you can use to compare what your throat looks like.
