Hi, I was just wondering if the fullness ever went away. I had my ears micro suctioned and when the wax came out I heard a loud pitched shriek that really hurt. I originally wen in I the ENT after being dizzy but now I the dizziness seems to be improving, but the fullness is alternating between both ears. Two months before I had let my left ear go too long without good to the doc as I have no insurance thinking it was just wax. When it felt like it was impacted for too long I went in and my PCP irrigated, though I never saw any wax come out. At the time I was treated for a pretty nasty ear infection, but then I was fine for 2 months! Not sure what caused the dizziness, but since seeing the ENT I get pressure in both ears. What the heck is going on here?View Thread
I have been feeling off for 2 months now. Been to my PCP for initial treatment and was prescribed steroids and a Z-Pak with no relief. After seeing and ENT I was told I might have allergic hydrops or vestubulitis due to getting over and ear infection two months prior. Strange thing is I was symptom free following the ear infection. I have an appointment for a second opinion as the ENT did it should have been resolved on its own in 6 weeks. Te only meds he have me was one called cyproheptadine that made me feel like a patient needing to be controlled in a mental hospital. Pharm recommended newer antihistamine and I have been taking Zyrtec for three weeks and it is the only thing that seems to help slightly.
Now the dizziness is more subdued, but I am still off every now and then. Noticing more fullness alternating between both ear, left in day and right more at night. Been sleeping almost upright for the whole time. Sometimes I feel, and I am just guessing, that it is somewhat more noticeable if I drink something to fast. Also, dropped Gluten from my diet and I am adhering to a low-sodium diet. What is going on with me? I just want to feel like myself again.View Thread
I know his post is five year past, but I am having the exact same symptoms you described in your original post. I am terrified that it could be Meniere's. My ENT said that he thought it was allergic hydrops or vestubulitis due to the mentioning of an ear infection that I was treated for two months earlier. I just don't understand how it could jump from two months of feeling fine to this. No vertigo thank God, but I have felt off balance for 2 months. Though the balance is slowing recovering te fullness is now more noticeable, alternating in both ears. I didn't remember that when I first started feeling off and I get the icy ear and hot sensation very occasionally. Also a very dull pain every now and then and I am always trying to yawn or equalize the pressure in my ear. Doc said there was not fluid in the middle ear. Did you ever get relief and a solid diagnosis?View Thread
