Hello,
You have always been so helpful, so I was wondering if you knew much about a Cerebral Tonsillis Ectopia? I had an MRI due to dizziness issues ordered by my neurologist. He said the MRI was fine, and the report will show this information. It states it is 2mm in size. I am reading very conflicting info on this. Some say it's not a concern, and dr's wait and watch, while others say even at 2mm it can cause symptoms from fluid blockage and needs a CSF MRI done.
My questions specifically is since I am 34 yrs old, would I expect that the 2mm will grow in size, and are there certain things I should avoid, (like alcohol, or jogging)...? I will be asking my neuro this info on 3/4, but I am curious until then as I can not locate this specific answers online. I appreciate any and all info you may have in regards this abnormality. THank you!View Thread

Hi,
I had asked a question in the begining of the month about how ever since I had the stomach flu, I have been experiencing waves of dizziness. This started last week in Dec. It has gotten better. With the dizziness sensation, I can see fine, walk fine, don't feel like I am going to fall, and don't feel like the room is spining. It feels like a wave comes over my head, with a dizziness sensation in my head only.
I saw the ENT 2.5 weeks back. he dx it a vastibular neuritis. He put my head in different positions. He did not exam my sinuses but said he didn't feel it was related. I don't have allergies that I am aware of, but my have experienced sinus headaches over the last couple of months on and off, and a drip from time to time. When this started I was not sick respitory wise.
I went to see my primary dr Monday. She said she feels it could be my thyroid overdosed. She did a complete CBC and thyroid check and today said all was fine.
I am getting worried because although it has improved it is still occuring. If it is my inner ear, how the stomach flu virus impact my ear exactly? I don't know if I should give this time, or if it would be wise to see a neurologist. I don't experience headaches, but can one show early signs of a brain tumor with only dizziness alone? I am starting to get scared it's something in my brain.

Hello,
I was seen by my ENT today due to dizziness I have been feeling after recovering from the stomach flu last week. Since Fri I have been having waves of dizziness that occur any time of the day, no matter what I am doing. He said my ears/eyes/look fine, no neuro concerns that he sees. He said he thinks my inner ear was affected from the virus and feels it will heal in time.
Does this sound like a possibility? If so, how long should I expect this fizziness to last? I am training for a 5K in spring, and need to jog again, will that be ok? Thank you for your time!View Thread

Hello, and thank you again for your time.
I called my ENT's office and they said he dx it as: Vastibular Neurotis. Do you know much about this? Is it possible for me to not show signs of a sinus infection, but for my sinuses to be creating this? I just find it odd that I don't show signs of a inner ear infection, and how a stomach flu could impact my inner ear

Thank you, Dr.
He kept saying "hmmm, I am not sure". In the end he said it could be the virus affected my inner ear. He didn't mention it being infected possibly, just that me being sick could have caused this. He definitely did not say labyrinthitis, he used another word (that I can't recall). He did offer a antivert, but I declined because he said it causes you to be sleepy.View Thread

Saw the ENT- questions

Hello!
I saw my ENT today because I am concerned with dizziness I have been feeling. It started last Fri, a few days after recovering from the nasty stomach flu. I went from headaches in my sinus area, to now just a feeling of waves of dizziness. I wanted to see if it was sinus related, or an inner ear infection possibly. He said he doesn't feel it is sinus related, and can't say for 100% if it's the inner ear. He moved my head in positions to see if dizziness would come on, and had me walk. He said he didn't see any neuro concerns, but feels that the virus may have affected my inner ear. He feels it will go away with time.
Does this sound possible? It comes in waves and makes me nervous as I have never experienced this before. He offered a antivert, butI declined as it makes you sleepy. I am training for a 5k and I really need to get back to jogging. Is this something that would be harmful if I do start jogging again? I don't feel like I am going to fall over, it only feels like a wave of dizziness that goes over my head. Today I was resting my head on my hand to the side, fixed my head, and I got dizzy. I get nervous because my mother has a benign tumor on her brain, and she said dizziness was a symptom for her. I assumed throwing up may have triggered this as I have never experienced these feelings before. I appreciate your time!View Thread

Hello:)
I havr an appt set up for 6/4 with an ENT i have seen before. I am getting worries to my symptoms and was wondering if you could help. Almost a month ago I camr down with a viral paryngitis. Went to the dr day one of a fever and horrible sore throat. In a 10 day period I went through every issue between cold symtpoms to ear achea and laryngitis. I felt better, but I have atill been having a sporadic cough. It feels like i am constantly swallowing things down my throat, and then my body coughing to tey to expell it. It is really annoying. Lately as well I have been having issues where one to tonsil will feel swollen an hurt, and it alternates and looks red. I dont havr any symptoms of a cold, and am not stuffy or runny. I dont have any known allergies. Can one have chronic pnd, reaulting in a cough, and tonsil discomfort?View Thread
